This is a powerful (FREE) tool I thought the Olam would enjoy (I mentioned this in a post (and it was posted), but I thought it is deserving of its own Topic)

It is available to anyone FOR FREE, and it is an add-on to Firefox.

Mods, please allow this link: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2820

(I have nothing to do with it, just found it online and thought people would like it)

    Long Description

Combining the power of Firefox, Google and the Mechon Mamre text library, this extension allows you to search the Hebrew texts of Tana”ch, Mishna, Talmud Bavli, Talmud Yerushalmi, Tosefta and Mishna Torah. You can search as broadly as all of these sources or as specifically as a single book of Tana”ch, a single tractate of Mishna or a single set of Halachot of the Mishnah Torah. The extension includes an onscreen Hebrew keyboard to assist those who do not know the Hebrew keyboard layout and/or do not have Hebrew input support on their machines. (You can use this keyboard to copy and paste Hebrew text into other things also).

This is still in development. There are many more features to come, including morphological search, search term highlighting and find in page. Let me know if you have any other suggestions.

qwertyuiop, Why don’t you download Firefox?. It’s simple, just click the link. The add-ons in Firefox are great. I haven’t tried this one yet though it sounds very useful. I use AdBlock Plus to get rid of ads, FlashBlock to stop flash videos from automatically starting, and I use ImgLikeOpera to turn off images.

    JayMatt19-

    Tizku l’mitzvos for the info.

For those who don’t have this plug-in, a Google search using various transliterations can also be helpful.

I have yet to see 2 people write a transliteration the same way

    JayMatt19-

“I have yet to see 2 people write a transliteration the same way”

-Even the same person is not always consistent between one transliteration and the next. Case in point: me (Sukkos – Sukos, Agmis Nefesh – Agmus nefesh, etc.) That’s why various transliterations may need to attempted.

The original request of the location of “Clallos Nemroo B’sinai V’nishnu B’Arvos Moav” – I was able to find the mekoros you pointed out by googling “Klalos Nemru Moav” (no quotes), but when I went to post it, someone had already done so.

BTW – keep up the good work with the divrei Torah. I don’t read the thread daily, but they are appreciated when I go there and catch up.

Is there any way to use this add-on, or a similar one, with Google chrome? If I switch to firefox, will I lose all my bookmarks from Chrome? (I have a very large library of bookmarks in about 20 different categories, built up over several years of researching.)

    thank you for your help.

You can import your bookmarks from one browser to another.

Also, you don’t have to “switch”. You can use multiple browsers.

Side note: both FF and Chrome have an addon called adblockplus that is very useful.
