As someone who has been married for quite some time, I can say with total sincerity, that despite a few minor annoyances that we need to make peace with (seat up / seat down, roll under / roll over, ect) there is nothing better than being married to a good spouse.

I can tell you what its like. It’s lonely and empty and no one that really understands you. You talk to this one about something and then someone else about something else…. you have no stability. you do whatever YOU think is right…. no one guiding you and constantly believing in you and helping you become a better person. It’s tough!

No matter what your “brand” you can do your homework and find the person that is right for you. Once you know what you want, setting the ball in motion is easy. Don’t be held hostage by the “system”. If your parents / friends / realtives are stalled, talk to the Rov / Rebbetizn in your life and tell them what you seek. You’d be surprised at what comes across their desk.
And if that does not yield results, talk to another Rov / Rebbetizn that is from a similar shul / background. Networking is the key to success.

what makes you say that I’m not doing my best and that my parents are not trying their best. To be very honest, I was hurt by your comment. What makes you think that we are sitting back and doing nothing? we are not still single because we are lazy but rather because Hashem wants us to be this way. we are networking. we are trying. but it takes lots of effort and Hashem is the one that makes it happen not our efforts (although they do help and thats hishtadlus but in the end its not up to us!)

your post sounded like you thought we are single because we are sitting at home waiting for mr. perfect to knock on the door and beg. Far from it. I will give up of lots of things. I will NOT give up on lots of things….. thats how it is. I am single because he just didnt come around ( no not mr perfect but mrs perfect for me!)
