I just took a baked kneidel (pesach roll) and piled it way high with what I thought was olive dip, and was about to eat it, when I decided to give it instead to my brother slaving over the stove, and told him to make mezonos and put it in his mouth.

Hashgacha pratis–it was actually jalapeno dip!

I would be thrilled if someone came over to me while I was slaving away at the stove and offered me a roll piled high with olive dip (good) but it turned out to be jalapeno (way better)!

How do you make your jalapeno dip?

How do you make your jalapeno dip?

    Take fresh challahpenyos.

    Chew them up.

Add a spoon of mayonaise and a dash of garlic powder.

    Mush around with your tongue.

    Spit out.

My baby bro once convinced me to bite into a jalapeno, claiming it wasn’t sharp at all. He even put one in his mouth and ate it to prove it to me. When I stupidly followed suit, I thought I would NEVER be able to talk again; my entire mouth had been burnt away, as far as I was concerned. I later discovered he had swallowed his rather small jalapeno, whole. Thus he avoided the heat of the pepper. I hope he had heartburn later…I am biding my time, but I will get him back for that one. It’s been 40 years, and he will never see me coming…

Wow, that doesn’t sound like Oomis. Hot peppers bring out the best in everyone…

Oomis, my husband just made me eggs with peppers, and forgot to tell me that he used green chili peppers that were red.

    It was actually surprisingly delicious.
