do you want ear phones that go inside your ear canal or inside your ear?

    #1113906

I actually don’t know if that’s a joke… I’d prefer headphones, actually, but if a good pair of earphones would be cheaper, I could go with that.

Its not a joke. Some people cant stand headphones that go into the ear canal. Others cant stand the opposite.

I prefer the Skullcandy earbuds myself. Great sound and they last a decent amount of time through some rough use. I bought a pair a few weeks ago at Target.

Sennheiser all the way! They make headphones from $10 to $50,000 (yes, 50k).

Also, you should figure out what type of headphones you like.

    Do you want in-ear earbuds?

    On-ear headphones?

    Over-ear headphone?

    Open-back or close-back?

    Noise canceling?

    What is your price range?

What will you be using them for? Gaming, music, media? What type of music do you like to listen to?

a headset has to be a really good one but earplugs can be cheap and sound good too.

I know, you already said that. The OP asked for an opinion on headphones and earphones. I answered the question.

Thanks for the info (I’m assuming you meant earbuds).

    Appdev:

    Thanks for the suggestion.

Earbuds that don’t go in the ear canal

or on-ear headphones (not the ones).

Open-back, if that means “cross-part on top of the head.”

(Noise canceling – Probably doesn’t apply to those types, or to…)

Price range – $20 or less.

Music, videos (heavy on dialogue), and gaming, but not in that sense).

A wide range, with loudness tendencies from folk/traditional pop to heavy metal (but I don’t turn anything up to uncomfortably loud levels).

Newbee what about a headset band for phone use (not a ear bud)? Any of them decent?
