The Shulchan Aruch (274:1) brings down that on shabbas night you cut the bottom challah .The Rama adds that on Shabbas day and yom tov night you cut the top challah for kabbalistic reasons. So what do you do when yomtov falls out on shabbas?( I would assume Tadir v’shaino tadir, tadir kodem)

I always cut by the side so that includes the top AND bottom.

    Friday night = bottom one

    Shabbos day = top one

    Shalesh Seudos = both

Based on the format of shemona esrei. When Yom tov is a weekday, its random

    YOU MISSED THE BOAT!

WE’RE TALKING ABOUT THE TOP OR BOTTOM CHALLA.

NOT THE TOP OR BOTTOM OF THE CHALLA.

Tadir kodem only applies in instances where you will perform both acts.

I was once told that you follow the order for yom tov in this instance.
