Any ideas for an anniversary present that can be bought/made without spending more than $15?

Good question! I am going to follow this one closely…

Sometimes the best present costs very little money.

Take a nice picture that you have. Buy a frame that’s bigger than the picture.

Make a backing out of construction paper, and write some nice things around the edges. It can be something that will remind the person of when the picture was taken, or just a nice endearment.

You can also give coupons that you make yourself – “Good for one night of no cleaning up” or “Good for a private walk at the time of your choosing.”

an idea for kids to do for parents, some I know made a fake roll of film, she took yellow and black oaktags and when the ‘film’ waz unrolled she had blown up pictures starting from their wedding pix till that day. It was very cute.

But for a spouse dunno maybe prepare a quiet candlelight dinner at home and buy a huge bouquet of roses…

The economy is not great, even for those fortunate enough to be employed.

How about a box of chocolate and a nice card?

    great ideas! really! thanks!

mrmoose-that is really a great idea-but not always feasible (I think that would be a better present for me…LOL)

This assumes a) the gift is not for a spouse and b)the couple has a child(ren).

Offer to watch the kids so the couple can go out and spend some time by themselves for a few hours.

    My shadow,

I was thinking of that, but then I realized that who said it has to be specific for me? Why not give ideas for e/o?

But if you want to know, we can focus specifically on presents for spouses in this thread.

    intellegent,

One idea for an anniversary gift for a spouse is to prepare his/ her favorite supper & present it as elegantly as possible. A nice card is appropriate too (even a dollar store card is good if one writes a thoughtful message inside).

Intellingent: How about aranging a party- invite married friends- each person brings a different food.. so you only $pend on the small ______(meaningfull card) that you give…. :o)

Could something along those lines work?

asdfghjkl, listen – the truth is I was willing to go to $20. :o)

no one tell my wife, but I have a big night planned

I am taking her to the Pizza shop for a slice of whole wheat pizza and a soda. If the mrs. wants something, I’ll let her get something also.

then we are going to go to the mall and walk around for a few hours.

after that we will go home, she’ll make the kids lunches for the next day, wash-n-dry the dinner dishes and put them away, sweep the floors, take out the garbage, throw the clothes from the washer into the dryer and start another load, write a few mitzvah notes, portion out the snacks, check to make sure everyone is a bed – not necessarily the correct bed – but at least in the bed, listen to the answering machine, check to see of the dryer is ready and change the baby. Me, I’ll just check my email look at YW and go to sleep.

Intellegent, you can get one of those keychain digital picture frames. They are usually around $15-$20 at CVS (probably cheaper other places) and then upload pictures of the two of you. This way, he will always be reminded of you no matter where he goes (and when the baby comes, he can post pictures of those too!)

    How are you feeling BTW?

    Hi Intellegent.

I don’t know why everyone (except for SJSinNYC) assumed you’re a guy. I seem to recall from previous posts that you are the lady in the house, and that you live in E”Y (Yerushalyim I think?).

And now for my two cents…My wife will occasionaly get me a belt. When on sale, you can usually find a beautiful belt for $15.00 or less.

Most importantly, splurge on the accompanying card. That’s what really counts.

“My wife will occasionally get me a belt.”

Can be understood in two ways actually. 😉

Was a bit surprised upon first reading! There’s a hotline for that sort of thing! lol

    Wow!

I’m really getting good ideas from all of you! I guess the coffee room can actually be a good thing once in a while!

    mdlevine,

When I read your post, I thought, wow, that would be a great present for me! (pizza, yum!) Then I read the last paragraph… :-

    SJSinNYC

Do you know if that could be bought in e”y? I guess you don’t live here so maybe not. But does anyone know?

Yikes, I didn’t realize people actually remember everything I ever say about myself. I’d better be more careful in the future! LOL! Yeah, I’m the “lady” in the house.

Intellegent, I have no idea, but I would say very possibly. Israel often has cutting edge technology and these arent even cutting edge.

I think I remember pertinent information about people I chat with a lot!
