CTL> Illegal Aliens do not vote for the Democratic Party.

But many can eventually become voters. Interestingly, I think immigrant communities initially lean democratic, but become more republican as they enter the middle class, while still keeping their family values. Jewish immigrants, btw, both Russians and Israeli seem to be very republican.

Illegal Aliens do not vote for the Democratic Party. They do not vote in American Elections. They can not register to vote without proof of citizenship.

You can’t assert that as a fact, given that some states, such as California, are very sloppy about mass-mailing and counting vote-by-mail ballots.

Dovid> You can’t assert that as a fact,

I personally think that fraud of this type is not widespread. What maybbe widespread is vote-gatherers going through, say, senior housing, and helping everyone to fill out ballots. This helping may be legal sometimes and illegal at others.

But it will be worthwhile to have a system that people trust. So, even if there is zero fraud, there should be ID checks and such so that nobody could claim fraud. Mr. Moris Ayn.

As voting is the core to a democratic system, we need to make sure that everyone, even most paranoid, trust it. Otherwise, it becomes easier to demagogue people into all kinds of uprisings.

    MY RESPONSE:

Many cities and states have NO VOTER ID.

In some places, it is ILLEGAL to ask a voter for ID.
    For example: California.

Therefore, ANYONE can vote in American elections,
even tourists from China who are in the USA for just 2 weeks.

This explains why the Republicans want to pass The Save America Act,
which would require Voter ID for all elections.

More than 100 countries have laws that require Voter ID for all elections.
    But not the USA.

In the most recent NYC mayoral election, ILLEGAL ALIENS
publicly boasted that they voted for Zohran Mamdani 7 or 8 times!

Last but not least, The Democratic Party imported 50 million ILLEGAL ALIENS
for the specific purpose of voting for The Democratic Party.

    @AAQ

Yes many do eventually vote after they become citizens and are fully documented.

My family arrived long before visas existed (more than 150 years ago). Thus they were also undocumented.

They did not become Republicans after becoming middle class of upper income, nor have I or my descendants.

That said, after almost 55 years I have become unenrolled from the Democrat Party and shall remain unaffiliated.

CTL> Thus they were also undocumented.

you get confused by your own euphemisms. They arrived the way everyone arrived at the time. So, they were legal. The problem with current arrivals is that they are “illegal”, not “undocumented”. At the time, your mishpucha was vetted at the Ellis Island and would have gone back if there were problems.

As I said, I don’t mind (as long as voting majority of Americans don’t mind) having more immigrants, but it would make sense to make that a legal process where people get vetted and selected. It is not more humane to let a million illegally, while making a million of legal applicants wait. And even if you convince me that illegals are mostly law-abiding – why not make the process right, so that there will be less anti-immigrant sentiment.

    > They did not become Republicans … after almost 55 years I have become unenrolled from the Democrat Party

well, if Dem party lost CTL, they lost all the yakkish vote …

Anyone who is for open borders. Why do you have a gate around your house.
