But what really happened with Jericho? After Cecil the lion was killed, I heard that Jericho (who is also a lion) was killed, then I heard it wasn’t him. But who was it? Is Jericho alive?

What I found interesting about the “Cecil incident” news coverage was that no one asked how a dentist was willing and able to pay $50000 for one (1) lion skin, which didn’t even include his other safari expenses. And people wonder why affordable health care is an issue. 🙂

    PETA’s letter to Yasser Arafat

    Your Excellency:

I am writing from an organization dedicated to fighting animal abuse around the world. We have received many calls and letters from people shocked at the bombing in Jerusalem on January 26 in which a donkey, laden with explosives, was intentionally blown up.

All nations behave abominably in many ways when they are fighting their enemies, and animals are always caught in the crossfire. The U.S. Army abandoned thousands of loyal service dogs in Vietnam. Al-Qaeda and the British government have both used animals in hideously cruel biological weaponry tests. We watched on television as stray cats in your own compound fled as best they could from the Israeli bulldozers.

Animals claim no nation. They are in perpetual involuntary servitude to all humankind, and although they pose no threat and own no weapons, human beings always win in the undeclared war against them. For animals, there is no Geneva Convention and no peace treaty—just our mercy.

If you have the opportunity, will you please add to your burdens my request that you appeal to all those who listen to you to leave the animals out of this conflict?

We send you sincere wishes of peace.

    Very truly yours,

    Ingrid Newkirk
    President, PETA

    From Fox News

A lioness at the Indianapolis Zoo fatally attacked on Monday the lion who fathered her three cubs, according to multiple reports.

The lioness, Zuri, was seen holding on to the lion, Nyack, by the neck, suffocating him to death, zoo officials said on Friday.

Zuri and Nyack had been kept together at the zoo for eight years, with no reports of aggression, they noted.

They became parents to three cubs three years ago, and seemed compatible from the time Nyack, who was 10 years old, arrived at the zoo on loan from the San Diego Zoo, according to The Miami Herald.

Zoo employees heard a commotion early Monday, before it opened to the public, and saw Zuri attacking Nyack, with one of their cubs near them.

The workers tried separating the lions, but Zuri continued her hold on Nyack’s neck until he no longer moved, reported The Herald.

The zoo announced Nyack’s death on its Facebook page on Friday.

“We don’t know what the precursor to the fight was,” the zoo curator, David Hagen said, according to WIBC. “They had been together for eight years and during that time they had done really well together.”

He said that the workers are upset about the loss.

“He was a friendly, playful lion.”

Nyack will be cremated. A necropsy showed the cause of death was suffocation.

Will PETA say that the lioness should be charged with domestic violence/murder?

No, because they’re okay with killing animals as long as you don’t benefit from it.

    ?

They want the same rights for animals that people have

So if an animal killed another animal (especially a husband and wife) it should be no different than one human killing another human

Animals have rights too and that lion isn’t having his rights met (even if he’s dead)

They’ve never complained about straight up murder, human or animal. They euthanize most of the animals in their “shelters”.

You know the headline is about Cecil the lion (which peta calls murder)

It’s only murder because trophy hunters keep the body.

    You make no sense

So if they left the body to decompose it wouldn’t be murder for peta?

Thank you, therefore my question was

Will PETA say that the lioness should be charged with domestic violence/murder?

They make no sense, but they do have a pattern:
Animals are assur b’hanaa, but only to humans and their animal companions
No lives matter, but this is not something to say explicitly
Animals are better off dead than employed by humans, even in humane conditions
A human may have an animal companion, but they must be equals
