i personally know that stuffed cabage gumball and dancinggirl are awesome at it

however its completely not tzniyus for jewish maidels to use this type of pritzusdika shmutzy goyish contraption. why do we always need to be like the goyim??

Chayav- why is it a “pritzusdika shmutzy goyish contraption”? It is with Jewish music!! And it is done by some as exercise, are exercise videos “pritzusdika shmutzy goyish contraptions” too?

    #942715

    YES!!!

Chayav- Can I ask why it is so pritzusdik according to you? What about it makes it so wrong to do and use?

Totally no offense meant by this next comment but I get the feeling that you think that anything (including probably taking a walk on the boardwalk) is pritzusdik and problematic for a frum jew.

    #942717

    no offense taken

but im just wondering how cud it not be pritzusdik to take a walk on the boardwalk??

gumball- the way I saw it was that her comments about the dance machine were real comments, yes- the boardwalk comment is a joke though.

Maybe I’m wrong but she def says things with a ‘straight face’.

you can also buy pads that are made for a pc then u dont need an adapter. we just downloaded the upgrade but will wait till after sefira to check out the new song (tick tock)

    #942731

I have it and love it! Is anyone else having some problems with it? Like it fails you in the beginning of a song and the pad’s sensors are not in the right places. I want to contact the company and ask for a new one-hope they’ll give me one!

No idea about stores. Call up the stores and ask.

Online you can see prices at http://www.stepitup123.com/shop/catalog/browse?shop_param=

Anyone know if the dance machine can be played during sefira?

    #942740

Protip: If you ask a rov, tell him it’s an exercise you do that works with music. Don’t use the word dance or game.

There was a thread about listening to music when exercising during sefira http://www.theyeshivaworld.com/coffeeroom/topic/listening-to-non-live-music-on-sefira#post-370591

Also Halachically speaking by R’ Moshe Dovid Lebovitz also talks about this. I’ll copy and paste it, but if you want you can see it also by googling Halachically Speaking and going to the archives It’s Volume 5 Issue 9.

    Without Intent

Many cases of listening to music are not because one wishes to enjoy the music. For example, one who is exercising and wishes to listen to music to make the exercising better is permitted to do so since his intent is not to enjoy the music.

Harav Yisroel Belsky Shlita, see Shiurei Halacha (Harav Felder Shlita) page 26.

the entire focus of dance machine is the music though. Its not enhancing the exercise, its the basis of it, so this might be different from Rav Belsky’s psak
