So theres this article on the front page of YWN about how the internet has negatively impacted people spiritually so one person comment the internet has been very good to me I met my spouse online except he spelled it souse I laughed like crazy.
A long time ago I found a typo in a post here in the CR very funny. While laughing, I typed a reply. Bad idea. The poster was deeply offended to have her typo pointed out, and needless to say, she did not find my comment humorous at all. Ever since then, if I do find a typo funny, I keep it to myself. And do not lol. I just swallow the laugh, resulting in a bit of a cough, and move on.
LOLing can certainly be offensive.
I laugh too, but at stuff like funny auto correct messages, it’s hysterical. I think when posting a comment on online though, we have to be careful to not embarrass or hurt someone. But we can still laugh privately.
I can’t laugh so much if regular people (they DO exist!) make mistakes, like on online chat rooms or notes in school. But I find it really funny if professional books, which have probably been thrice proofread and edited and re-edited, have typos or mistakes. Just goes to show that we’re all human, no matter how many times we try to reach beyond that.
Even my dog is human.

as long as the word is in English its not the end of the world if there’s a typo. but making up Yiddish words and spelling it wrong makes t completely impossible to read a post.

But here in the Coffee Room we take each poster (that’s us funny people who work for the Yeshiva World, by POSTing here) with a grain of salt. We try not to get personal, offensive.
