What is your opinion about Melaleuca?
I used to be part of the company. I tried many of the products. I still use two which I like, Rustic Touch,which is good for my furniture, and Breath Away mouth rinse. This is a concentrate, which I mix with water and it has a great taste. It pays for you to try some of the products, and see if you like any. If you are thinking of becoming
a distributor, this is needs a lot of research, meaning, look carefully at the marketing plan, and be ready to talk
to many people re personal care and cleaning products. When many people in BP were involved many years ago, most hardly made money. From the many MLM’s I have been involved in, this was one of the hardest.Is that another one of those pyramid schemes?

What is your opinion about Melaleuca?
Like Australian Pine, an invasive tropical tree that is harmful to South Florida’s ecology.
Their website is weird and seems to expect you to be in awe of them.
Multi level marketing scam. Very common. Keep away from them, Vector Marketing, Mary Kay, Ambit Energy, and Amway. They all use different terminology and slightly different business models, but they all boil down to the same things.
To become a seller, you have to “buy in” at a few hundred dollars. You then have to make dozens, possibly hundreds, of sales just to turn a basic profit. They will tell you that the “real money” comes from being a distributor, where you get a cut of every sale and every initial seller buy-in. But most of <i>that<i> money comes from the buy-in, as most sellers end up dropping out before they turn a profit. And you’re not even making all that much, and a large cut is still going to a guy above you. So you push to get more sellers, and soon <i>you</i> are that guy, hence the term “multi-level”. In the end, only about 15% of people near the top of the food chain end up turning a profit, and that profit is built on the failures of all the little individual sellers. And the worst part of it? You aren’t even an employee. You have zero protection, and you need to take care of your own health insurance and retirement plans.
And they all have this weird cult-like attitude. They will push you to try and set up parties with your friends to guilt them into buying the product. They have these weekend retreats where they get the top distributors to talk about how rich they are and look at all those silly people with their jobs.
My advice? Get some nice part-time job paying minimum wage. It’s a lot less stress for a lot more money.
y12. I don’t agree. I have been in many mlm’s. Shaklee, Herbalife, gochi juice, etc, mostly companies with
special products that you don’t get in the stores. Many people have seen good results. People lost weight with
Herbalife, cholesterol was lowered with gochi juice and many more. However, the reason most people don’t make too much money with mlm, is that they are not business people. They are customers who thought it would be easy to make extra money. Then they realize, it takes alot of commitment, just like any other business.When I liked a product due to good results, I talked about it to others. I was good in selling., Signing up others was much harder. To do well today one would have to use modern technology such as facebook, linked in and others.
Today, I am involved in bitcoin. I found a company that’s established and safe. I get commission daily and don’t need to sign up anyone else unless I want to. This is passive income.
STAY AWAY FROM MELALEUCA! If the products are so good, why can’t you get them in regular stores or even just buy them online? You are forced to become a member to buy anything, and your cc is automatically charged for tens of dollars a month for products you couldn’t possible need that much of. How many vitamins does one household need? I was scrambling to come up with products to buy each month to meet the minimum requirement. And I didn’t even think that their cleaning products were that great. But even if I did, honestly, who even spends over $40 a month on cleaning products other than a school or shul. This is a pyramid scheme. STAY AWAY.

Their website has an “alternative spirituality” vibe for some reason.
Why are frum people doing this? It’s the promise of easy money. However, that is not true. You have to work hard to earn good money. On the other hand, you don’t need college or special training. Almost anyone can do it.

Please keep away from MLMs if you put in this amount of effort and time in any other job and business you can do much better. Most people are happy with the products quality and prices from their local supermarkets they just do you a favor and most of them don’t reorder unless you’re on their necks. Sometimes one person in a town that ends up singing up people make a little more but it’s a real waste. I tried Amway years ago had to coax people into believing the dishwasher soap is superior and until i got someone to buy they did me the biggest favor
yehuda, good question. The answer is, when I got introduced to an mlm company, I tried the product. If this was
something I liked, I joined and worked on it. Most mlm’s were popular for a while in the community, then they
petered out. Why? most people who join are not business people. They try it for a while, then they give up.
Over the years, I had been approached by acquaintances also involved in mlm’s with new upcoming companies. I joined when it was popular, while many people were buying the product. Today, I do online passive incomes, where I earn without having to sign up anyone else. Bitcoin is the one to look at, the price goes up almost every day.Forget about the business aspect, are Melaleuca items good consumer products?

Back to the question, are Melaleuca’s consumer products good quality?
@ujm Melaleuca’s entire business model relies on swindling people as Multi-Level Marketing (AKA MLM AKA Pyramid Scheme). Unfortunately a lot of their victims are frum Jews who buy in as a low level “associate”.
Yseribus, I said evidence. I understand your or your loved ones dabbling in their business side ended in failure. 4 out of 5 new businesses fail. A failed restaurant doesn’t mean the restaurant business is bad. A failed retail outlet doesn’t mean the retail business is bad. Your experience isn’t necessarily indicative of others. They’ve been in business for many decades and certainly some are successful. Personally, I would never become a salesman of their products. But I’d never open a restaurant, either.
If you have evidence otherwise submit your evidence rather than theories or experiences. So far none has been offered.
In any event, all I’m asking about is the quality of Melaleuca’s consumer products. Nothing to do with doing business with them. If anyone has insight into the quality of Melaleuca’s products, please do share it.
Today is the yahrtzeit of R Eli Teitelbaum z”l. One of the last things he did was write a letter to the editor of Yated that was published after he was nifter (might have been printed before, but by the time the paper was out he had passed away already. In that letter he warned very strongly about staying away for Multi Level Marketing schemes like this one. Don’t remember if he mentioned this company or any other one specifically, but sometimes it may be true that chacham adif minavi.
Melaleuca (aka Tea Tree Oil) has good but limited uses topically.
It’s antibacterial, antifungal and healing properties can often be replicated with Lavender essential oil.Beware! Especially using it internally or as a mouth wash or toothpaste. Overexposure has been known to cause gynecomastia (abnormal breast growth), especially in young boys.
Amway was popular in previous century. Is MLM still active?! When you can google it and see the scam? When there are not enough workers for so many jobs? makes no sense to me
