There are numerous yeshivish, chassidish young folk around these days that are modern orthadox wanna bes. They try to imitate that way of life however it comes across nerdy, since they did not grow up this way and also because the ones that do it are the uneducated ones. At the end of the day they have lost two worlds. What’s your opinion in this? Is there anyway of bringing this to their attention during their chinuch? As a result of turning toward the less spiritual road and being highly uneducated enough to persue something decent they turn toward the low class, and they have nothing.
I know what you mean and i dont know if i can think of any solution for your problem but just as a caution be careful how you refer to things and other people in klal yisroel “low class”..were you referring to modern orthodox as that?
This is an active time of the year, for the Modern Orthodox:- Less than 6 weeks unto Yom ha’Atzmaut, and 9 weeks from today unto Yom Yersuholayim. 2 major & wonderful holidays.

Why do you say the MO completely ignore Pesach and Shavuos? You know, when we became a Jewish nation and when we received the Torah. What are genreally considered the seminal events by Orthodox jews?
Why are you ascribing such apikorsus to those who define themselves in some way as orthodox Jews?
Of-course we very strongly hold of and observe Pesach, Shovu’os & Sukkos. & we spend far more money on our Pesach provisions or Arba Minim, than on our Yom ha’Atzmaut celebrations, so nishtdayngesheft’s remarks of our observation of Pesach Shovu’os & Sukkos is totally unfounded, as well as highly offensive.
Furthermore we give very generous sums of money to Kimcha d’Pisscha, but not a cent to Yom ha’Atzmaut soup kitchens.
Chanukah is Keneged Sukkos {The oxen diminishing daily as do Beis Shamai’s candles}; Purim is Keneged Shovu’os, both being a time of Kiyemu veKiblu:- Acceptance of our Holy Torah; Yom ha’Atzma’ut is Keneged Pessach, both being a time of Geuloh {Incidentally the Haftoro of Acharon Shel Pessach is same Haftoro as that of Yom ha’Atzmaut}.

Comparing Pesach to Yom Hatzmaut, complete apikorsus. And too phrase it the you have, that Pesach haftorah is like Yom Hatzmaut? They copied pesach from what a few misguided individuals do? Boy are you farrikt.
And the geulah of Pesach led to Mattan Torah, Yom Hatzmaaut led to kefiras hatorah, L”A.
And the rest of his comparisons are just silly drivel. We do not pasken like Beis Shamai. ANd Bais Shamai’s opinion did not make Chanukah Kneged Sukkos. Utter foolishness.
He is right about Channukah being K’negged Sukkos, even if we don’t Pasken like Beis Shammai (see the Aruch Hashulchan). It could be that Yom Ha’atma’ut is K’neged Pesach, but you can’t say that with any Vada’us. And yes, the Haftarah is Na’arishkeit.

nishtdayngesheft is hereby referred to an article linking Chanukah to Sukkos, because it wasn’t me who invented this; But far greater people.
But I guess nishtdayngesheft is not familiar with “Eilu v’Eilu Divrei Elokim Chaim”, nor with fact, that in Zeman Moshiach we shall be following Beis Shamai, lighting from 8 thu to 1 candle.
Furthermore, nishtdayngesheft came accross as having no idea nor notion of the explosion of Yeshivos & Torah learning today in Eretz Yisroel, something which surely wasn’t the case under the British mandate nor under the Turlish empire. But B’H for Medinas Yisroel & Yom ha’Atzmaut there has been a massive increase in the Jewish presence in Israel {possibly for the 1st time since Bayis hoRishon, that there maybe more Jews in Eretz Yisroel than in Chutz Lo’oretz raising a serious question of obligation to observe Yovel & Hilchos Arachin}.
This clearly is 100% opposite of Kefiras haTorah.
