Hard to make it here but v special community (I’ve lived in a. Lot of places and had kids in 3 continents)
I doubt any of my married kids will end up here. Too expensive. Even upper middle class here often cant buy a home and even if they can admit they camt keep their married kids here. But again it’s awesome great choice of schools awesome bais yakov, great yeshivas and several kollelim.

Rent is crazy. Starting without rent control duplexes in la brea over 4500 a month (they are v large) houses probably 6k valley can still get house rental for 4k+ pico apartments start about 3500 smaller than the duplexes in la brea
Schools seem less than n.y. and work with u. Taxes no clue the difference google.it. if u keep chalav yis everything is a dollar more (mile, cheese etc) than ny prices

Why is this a question on LA and not NYC?

To go off on a tangent, I understand why frum organizations and families are hesitant to move away from big population areas, but imagine what it can do for klal Yisroel! In Wyoming, farinstens, there are tons of state funded programs for everything under the sun, from private schools to extra tax breaks for multiple children. Property is ridiculously cheap, a large family home costs less than a one-bedroom apartment in Flatbush. And with remote jobs plus the low cost of living, it means that a young couple can actually (gasp!) save some money without reliance on their parents. The Kollel of Cheyenne should be a resounding success, but for some reason no Rosh Yeshiva wants to make the sacrifice.

Yseribus: How is moving to Wyoming a “sacrifice”?

@Joseph The fact that no one was willing to do so implies that there is sacrifice involved, despite the major obvious gains. Then there’s the obvious, there’s no established community, no kashrus, relatives and friends can only be visited by flying in, etc. But all it needs is one big Rosh Yeshiva, one Rav Uren Reich, one Rav Yisroel Neumann, one Rav Nosson Stein, to move out there with ten kollel yungerleit to get things started.

Only half of the question was asked. Yes, you must be wealthy, and yes, you must be crazy.

Cheaper to live in E”Y, and certainly better for one’s spiritual life as well.

Arizona, you only covered two thirds. Yes, you must be wealthy, yes, you must be crazy, and no, you don’t have to dye your hair orange.

It seems to me that yes. Since Los Angeles is one of the most expensive cities in the world. So even the homeless are rich.

Wyoming is no solution for an American-national frum Jew. It is a solution for 10,000 of them, with proper organization. Best of all is Eretz Yisrael.
