I am looking for frum guys who are interested in investing in a full functioning gym exclusively for men, located in Flatbush. This is just a feeler to see if there is any interest. Would love to hear from guys who currently work out seriously who would prefer an alternative to a mixed gym

I am looking for frum guys who are interested in investing in a full functioning fast food restaurant, located in Flatbush. This is just a feeler to see if there is any interest. Would love to hear from guys who currently eat hamburgers who would prefer an alternative to MacDonald’s.

too much space needed for the income ask yeled vyalda to open one in flatbush there you are not paying for the property …vehamavin yovin similar to a wedding hall in brooklyn cannot survive unless its under a mosad and you are using the basement of a yeshiva like all the atreres …..

How is Yeled not paying for the property?

How about considering a dual use facility that might provide a better return on your investment. A full-service “guys only” gym which is configured so it can also be used as a simcha hall. You could schedule the gym to reopen so that all the yungerleit who fress at the simcha could immediately do an hour of cardio activity to work off some of the calories.

A gym for men only loses half the population as potential customers and honestly alot of frum men do not work out so you would need non-jews to join in order to turn a profit.

Your best bet is a normal GYM with some seperate off peak hours, that might work

My guess is The previous Kosher GYm because it got too ambitious. It moved to larger quarters at less convenient location with problem parking. I was thinking more in the lines of owners will be investors who put in a certain amount of money and then charge membership. The alternate hours didn’t work for me when I went to that gym. There are a number of frum guys where I go now and it just seemed that they , like me, would feel more comfortable in an all-male gym.

my rov told me instead of going to gym i should run to shul, and to the beis hamedrash, and learn standing up whilst holding my gemoro, whilst shockeling, as this will exercise my guf and neshama avoiding bitul zman! ive finished bava kamma already, and my biceps are looking like large sized challahs, im yirtzeh Hashem by all of you

What’s this business about “would feel more comfortable in an all-male gym”? Going to a non-all male gym is forbidden by Jewish law.

Joseph, a gym that has men’s days and women’s days is assur?

Thats why He “would feel more comfortable in an all-male gym”…..burning the calories w/o worrying about visual distractions and burning in gehonom. Seems like a no brainer to me.

My understanding is that it’s a fence, not a law.

I saw a Story of Berel Wein. Berel Like to Jog and one morning he was jogging wearing Jogging clothes and he saw Rav Shlomo Zalman Auerbach. he was embarassed because of the way he looked and Rav Sholmo Zalman said to him NU your health is important too

RY23, attending a gym that has both genders utilizing it at the same time is prohibited by Jewish law.

RebYidd23: Of course it would be assur. A guy working out on the treadmill could be led to have inappropriate thoughts about who might have been running on that treadmill 24 hours earlier. A slippery slope to pritzus and worse.
Obviously its not assur given that Agudah and other frum mosdos have events at advertised venues highlight the fact that they provide swimming pools with separate hours for men and women. A more complex but pressing shaylah for the armchair CR poskim is whether it is mutar for men and women to play on a golf course at the same time (in separate foursomes of course).

DovidBT: Shmiras Einayim is a law not just a fence. (Even had it been a fence, fences are binding not optional.)

Doesn’t Shmiras Einayim conflict with being a “light unto the nations”?

If it does then Shmiras Einayim unquestionably takes precedence.

Consider having the treadmills and stairmaster screens loaded with videos of a different shiiruim or perhaps even the daily learning for the daf yomi. Members of the fitness center could combine their daily learning with cardio exercise assuming they are among the lucky few who can actually read the screen while moving (something I’ve never been able to do even with progressive lenses).

I know that at some JCC’s have separate male and female hours (in Baltimore the local JCC has a room that is separate for one-gender only, with separate hours for males and females = in addition to the larger fitness room which is mixed). ARE THEY ARENY INDEPENDENT “FRUM” SINGLE GENDER FITNESS FACILITIES THAT ARE PRIVATELY OWNED OR AT LEAST OPERATED BY FRUM ORGANIZATIONS, ANYWHERE?

curves in an example of a female only gym, and cuts fitness for men is male only.
