New Yorkers get to vote on new plates for the two-ton death machines that are constantly blocking the road. Which design do you think is best?

    Design Two

Whichever one will not be clear for the speed and red light cameras.

I say anything but Plate 4.

Plates one and three are both good choices.

Motorcycles and trucks are not getting new plates?

Also where do I see the choices?

I am not sure if the mod will allow the link (I added spaces so the link wont work)

It’s weird, the state claims they need plates with dark letters on a light background for the new toll plate readers. Yet the first option featuring the Sfachim Sr. bridge, has a darkish background! Well what can one expect from the Sfachim Jr.?

The yellow plates look really bad because the plate is the tooth of the car.

Fine Klugeryid, the ½ ton and 20 ton and 40 ton ones too.

They’re all terrible, and incredibly boring. Much like New York itself.

Is the Statue of Liberty considered a ‘getchkeh’?

Devny, as one of the developers of New York, do you really want to damage your product’s reputation like that?

#5 but I like the faded backround of #3. The original blue/white before the yellow plates were the best though.

I resent that it must have “Excelsior” or the bridge.

If you remember the packing material called excelsior, you’re old. Likewise if you remember Bullwinkle’s parody of Longfellow’s poem Excelsior.

I voted for plate 5. I loved the old plates with Niagara Falls and the NYC skyline and refused to ever get the boring plates with the orange background. I just switched to the 9/11 commemorative plates last month.

Are they going to force you to switch to the new ones?

Any comments on the winning design?
Is anyone looking forward to seeing it on the road?

Cuomo rigged the contest in favor of the plate design showing Cuomo Bridge. All the other designs were fairly similar to each other, with the bridge with his namesake the standout.

RebYidd, yes I do, as I am ashamed at how the product turned out.

Seriously, the only redeeming factor in the entire state are the Adirondacks. The license plate should show a picture of the view from Indian Head Vista, but that would be a terrible idea, as it would cause all the city people to realize they have a nice place in NY, head up there, and completely trash it. As humans have done throughout history. That’s why I became a troll in the first place. Humans ruin everything. But I digress.

    Plate three is highly solid.

The winning design will also incorporate the new state motto that won the competition to replace the current “Empire State”. The winning motto is”New York: Gateway to Connecticut”.

Cuomo rescinded the fee for the new plates yesterday
