February 19, 2009 1:20 am at 1:20 am #963808an open bookParticipantwhat IS a notary?
February 20, 2009 3:11 pm at 3:11 pm #963809AL2Participantan open book- a notary is someone who vouches another person’s signature. They have to see the person actually signing the legal document. Once the person signs, the notary will use a stamp or seal and then sign it as well. I am also a notary, but I don’t live in Lakewood. Sorry I can’t help.
February 20, 2009 5:22 pm at 5:22 pm #963810yossieaParticipantWhy do you need a gemach for a notary?
February 20, 2009 5:24 pm at 5:24 pm #963811YW Moderator-72ParticipantI think they can charge something like $2.00 for each signature they notarize. If you have a lot of docs, it can add up. but for a couple of papers…

February 20, 2009 6:33 pm at 6:33 pm #963815yossieaParticipantYW-72, actually it might not always be the case. If you are notarizing copies of the same document, then there is a different fee.
Also, the fees vary state to state.
