Can someone please explain to me why those sanitation stickers are legal? I am not aware of a law that allows defacement of property when violating parking regulations.

Would I be allowed to put a sticker on every police car that parks illegally? Or better yet, even without any reason at all?!

I think Greenfield got rid of it recently.

But to answer your question you are parked on a city street without their permission so it’s good they didn’t tow you. I know I do it also but then I accept the punishment without complaining.

If Greenfield gets this law passed i have a feeling the sanitation ticket prices will be going up.

yes 2qwerty greenfeild worked on it and finally saw results but now bloomberg says he’ll veto the bill when it comes on his desk. He’s such a davkinyak!!

Thank you David Greenfeild for working on our community’s behalf!

Not sure that he is a davkinyak. He just doesn’t understand what regular people go through on a daily basis in this city. He lives a fairy tale life with his Billions of dollars and his mansions jets cars and whatever else. He doesn’t know what it means that a parking ticket can be a significant chunk of someone’s paycheck. He probably never got a sanitation sticker on his window in his life and if he got one one of his servants probably took care of it before he got to see it.

2qwerty- You didnt answer the question. Being parked on the street “without their permission” shouldnt give them the right to put a sticker on your car.

They can tow you car because it is impeding their work, but they cant pretend your car is not there and just push it out of the way causing significant damage…. or maybe you think they can??!

Is it illegal to stick on a big bright red “REVENGE!” sticker on the offending sanitation car in return?

Beware sanitation officers. Don’t go near my car!! I have you warned!

yungerman1, do you really understand the concept of parking on some elses property?

If you are trespassing someone property you can get shot but your car cant get a small sticker?

Ok, the reason they are allowed to put the sticker on your car, is because they passed a law which says that they can.

They are allowed to pass any law they want, as long as it doesn’t conflict with a state or federal law or either constitution. If you think this one does- sue them.

I don’t think this has anything to do with other people’s property. They could pass a law which says that they can sticker cars on your property also- as long as it doesn’t violate state or federal law or either constitution.

Greenfield is trying to repeal the law, as it should be repealed. It is a stupid law.

The reason it is stupid, is that it harms people with no corresponding benefit to someone else. So the harming people is a waste.

If they think the fine is not high enough, they should just raise the fine. Fines are not stupid, since the money you pay is not destroyed- it goes to someone else. So the harm to you has a corresponding benefit, which equals out.

2qwerty- Lets not confuse common sense with the law, and please address the question.

If someone is on your property you cannot shoot them unless you feel physically threatened- or live in Texas.

If someone parks their car in your driveway I do not think that gives you the right to “take a Louisville slugger to both headlights, and slash a hole in all four tires”….

Well if they are doing something against the law you can sue them for damage.

Since no one did I assume its legal.

If I tow your car I’m also causing you damage time/money so just don’t block my driveway.
