I’ve noticed a new poster today, but when I checked her profile before welcoming her I see that she’s years old already… And I remember seeing this before too. What gives?
Do people open accounts and set it aside for a rainy day in a few years? Were all their previous posts deleted? Is it a back press issue and they really ARE new members?
maybe they only commented on news stories- it’s the same account, but doesn’t show up on your profile
On no, some come once a month, others are just people you jst dont notice…..
There is actually a thread with a grand list of each username, I know Im on it, but its somewhere deep deep in the CR.

I created my account four years ago. I was active for a while and then stopped– it was a combination of losing interest and not having time. Recently I came back, then left, then came back again.
There are plenty of people who are active and then leave for any number of reasons. Some resurface, some don’t. It’s not a grand mystery.
I know I should, its so late and still so much to do……

I also used to have a sporadic account, but then i forgot my password…
I had a different screen name and picked this one for a private topic. But then my kids saw this one saw I kept it. I could use my other one for anonymous posting but I doubt I wouldn’t be figured out. I post like I write like I speak.
I used to spend A LOT of time here; now I don’t.
however, I check the threads now & again, & post comments rarely.
but I’m still here 🙂

some people use, but don’t post. so they will be members for while but only after, say, 5 years will they post something. takes major self control, I must say, to see some poster ranting on about complete nonsense and not set him straight.
streekgeek- try commenting on news articles, you’ll see it doesn’t go onto your profile. I think my explanation makes a lot of sense.
streekgeek- I was a member and would comment on news stories for a while before I happened on the coffeeroom. I commented once, then started commenting more often.
