This guy has been used and abused by his employer, they traded for him just to sell tickets and then didn’t give him an opportunity to succeed now another slap in the face of having the 3rd stringer get to start the final two games shame on the jets.

yeah, this sports world really is sinking lower and lower. forget common courtesy or even respect, homage nor loyalty. every player is looked upon as a product instead of a person. is he vested in this team or not. if not, get rid of him. it’s not only the jets, goq, it’s almost every team in any sport.

How important is this (or any sports event) in the “big scheme” of things?

If you dont find it important than you need not comment why did u even go into this thread if sports is beneath you?

At $2 million per, he’s hardly poor. I would probably take that kind of money to be abused as he has been. Then I could afford a Rolex.

Tim Tebow is for sure not going to be there Quarterback next year. What is the point of starting him. They want to see if the other Quarterback is good enough to be a starter or they will go with Mark Shanzaz or free agents.

This guy has been royally wrecked, he was brought in because of his famous name and was not given a legitimate chance to prove himself and he played very well last year, hes not what you would call a classical strong armed qb but he has always been a winner when given a chance, one more thing a black player would never have been disrespected this way.

oh come on. The guy was terrible last year. He completed under 50% of his passes that’s atrocious. Jets aint gonna win with this guy and if he was half decent in practice they would have played him by now

But he won far east he got them into the playoffs and beat the steelers he did his very best every week and found ways to win, was it pretty always? no it was not but he was scrappy and found a way.

Normally I’d agree with you, but funny things happen on the Jets sideline.

Sports are like that. The Jets will probably trade or otherwise get rid of him. He probably would be better off in a market that has a higher percentage of religious people (note that except for frum Jews, New York is perhaps the most anti-religious place in America).

Wherever he ends up, he will be respected.

if anything Denver won in spite of him rather than because of him. Their Defense and Kicker is what carried them to the playoffs. Granted, he did seem to have some 4th quarter magic. But to rely on that consistently is simply foolish.

    TimTim Tebow

    What an ego

Wants to be the starting QB

    TimTim Tebow

    What does he know

Throws worse than the average newbie

    TimTim Tebow

    Got some free dough

No play for the checks he’s cashing

    TimTim Tebow

    Can’t they see though

That his team, the Jets, are crashing

“Granted, he did seem to have some 4th quarter magic”

I’m not sure one needs magic to beat the jets. They usually beat themselves. They did last year against tebow and denver.

Whos the backup this week tebow or sanchez?

    #932010

OK, now that I had my fun with the silly previous post, here’s a real answer:

Tebow seems to be a really decent young guy. He has been extremely gracious in handling the way he has been (mis)used this year, the way he never was given a chance to play regularly, and the way he wasn’t given a chance to start when the starter failed. In summary, he seems to be more of a “mentch” than anyone in pro sports nowadays.

    However…

He shouldn’t be a NFL QB. He’s a great athlete, he’s built like a tank, and can run really well. But, his throws have no accuracy. If he was a fullback who occasionally threw option passes, that might be his best fit.

If the starter (Sanchez) was a better throwing QB, Tebow would be a change of pace. As is, a switch just changes a poor throwing QB who’s not a deep threat with an even poorer throwing QB who’s a running threat – this isn’t something that can cause a defense substitution problems.

    In summary:

-Tebow’s a nice young man and I wish him the best of luck.

-He was 100% mislead as to how he would be used in NY.

-I don’t want to see him as my team’s QB.

-He may find success playing a different position.

Tebow is a great athlete, and I have loads of respect and admiration for his courage to be vocal and public about his faith, something that we need to do as well. We need to make a place for G-d in the public sphere, and never cower away from being shluchim and ambassadors for Torah Judaism wherever we go. People will respect us when we learn not to be afraid of who we are. And, when liberal Jews complain about Christians being open and vocal about their convictions, they are merely perpetuating the decline of Judaism. The answer to strengthening the Jewish people is not by whining about a nativity scene or Tebowing, but by being public and unafraid of things like the Hanukkiah, kashrut, tzniut, kippah, shabbat, tzitzit, etc.

The Jets did not use him right. They say tebow is going to go to the Jaguars, were he is going to compete for a starting job.

NY Jets’ Tim Tebow may be splitting up with team, but he has hate date at Texas church where he will be star speaker

He’s on the verge of being dumped by the Jets, but Tim Tebow is poised to be the star attraction at a Texas church headed by a hate-spewing preacher.

    Is Tebow the next pope?

Speaking of which, now that Joseph is stepping down as pope, will he be posting more?

He cancelled his appearance at that church.
