Three real shidduch solutions, unlike those being peddled by the nessiim.
1. Background check service. You call us, pay us money, we dig up all the dirt on the young man or lady. The stuff the references won’t tell you–was she 300 pounds in seminary? Is he divorced? Did his father beat him? Did she do drugs in Israel? Does his mother smoke? Does his father read the New York Times?
2. Reference service. We go by the name of Bayla Schwartz (we change it for each person) and we were your roommate in seminary. Or your shul rebbetzin. Or whoever. We are a good reference.
3. Reputation enhancement. You know that girl who they are always gossiping about what a good girl she is and what a baalas chessed and certainly is going to get the best guy in Lakewood? We know her too, and her father’s credit card number even better, just sayin’.
What are your fees?

Depends if they want the best guy in Lakewood or one of my other clients. One of my other clients they can afford without my help. The best guy in Lakewood they’re gonna need me for.
Nah, there are enough best guys in Lakewood out there for those who can afford it (although your third service can create more if necessary).
Could you do the same for boys who want to get into a good yeshiva so they can find a good shidduch later?

DY: A girl in her mind should understand (or at least, think it) that the guy she is marrying is the most amazing guy in the world FOR HER. It’s very subjective.
FIF: How complimented would you feel if someone said to you, “You know, your baby isn’t the cutest baby, but I think it’s the perfect baby FOR YOU!”
If you think you wouldn’t be offended, you’re obviously not a parent.
Any person logically grounded in reality instinctively knows that their fiance or baby isn’t the best or cutest in the world. Their are 25 million babies and singles/fiances, and the likelihood that YOURS is the best is one in twenty five million. (Or whatever the actual number and odds are.) And you never met over 99% of the others, so you can’t even compare yours to everyone else’s even with a fair comparison. Logically every reasonable person realizes it. That being said, very few openly admit or discuss this logical point.
