During my yeshiva days as a Harryish yeshiva bochur, I never owned a Chiddushei Rabbeinu
Chaim Halevy al HaRambam, as that was not the stress of my yeshiva. Flash forward to 2018, and my son received 2 copies of the sefer for his bar mitzvah. He gave me one of them and I have been enjoying it ever since. As a balabos who works full time it’s tough to find enough hours to put into it, but I find some here and there. I have started taking some notes to help me understand the steps and movement. I have shared these notes elsewhere and got positive feedback, so i decided to share them here too. feel free to comment, critique, etc.July 8, 2018 8:49 am at 8:49 am #1553835It is Time for TruthParticipantYosef,
Which yeshiva was that?
Most of that era(presuming the ’90s or beginning 21st century )overstressed it absurdlyJuly 8, 2018 9:08 am at 9:08 am #1553843JosephParticipantIITfT: How can stressing it ever be considered too much?
July 8, 2018 9:35 am at 9:35 am #1553845It is Time for TruthParticipantA roommate of mine in Lakewood once semi facetious only ,put it ,Moshe came down the mountain, then was the Rambam ,then came RebChaim
From the Ridvaz to R’Yaakov Kamenetzky many have held it was overstressed or moreJuly 8, 2018 12:42 pm at 12:42 pm #1553942YosefSebrowParticipantIITfT, Chofetz Chaim. In Chofetz Chaim it is considered better to come up with a good hesber of the Maharsha’s pshat in the hava amina of tosfos than to say a tzvei dinim to answer a stira in the Rambam.
