I just ate some deli that has been in the fridge for about a week. It didn’t smell great, but not awful either. I think it was bad.
Like I say, “alter fleicsh is der bester laxative”

October 24, 2011 12:48 am at 12:48 am #1110978Bar ShattyaMemberI know they sing some yiddish song on simchas torah. I guess thats how it goes.
Prune juice is ah gutteh laxative
alter fleicsh is der bester laxative
A beautiful song indeed and how quintessentially yiddish

That awful stench he couldn’t smell
So polished off that piece of meat
Now to the washroom he must retreat
Guess we’ll see you in awhile
At least you made a bunch of us smile!
October 24, 2011 1:15 am at 1:15 am #1110982popa_bar_abbaParticipantthanks for sharing!
I actually did offer to share, but once I announced it was probably rotten, nobody else wanted to eat it.
Go figure.
October 24, 2011 1:17 am at 1:17 am #1110983kapustaParticipant“If you ever have a bad cough, take a laxative, you’ll be afraid to cough.”
October 24, 2011 1:36 am at 1:36 am #11109842scentsParticipantNext time make sure to eat it before yom tov (against your wife’s will) before it rots.

This was ostensibly being cooked today for pesach.
October 24, 2011 3:47 am at 3:47 am #1110989HealthParticipantPBA – How do you post from the John? Do you have a wireless laptop?
October 24, 2011 3:56 pm at 3:56 pm #1110990ZeesKiteParticipantRotten Meat… Isn’t that what I’m called?
October 24, 2011 5:02 pm at 5:02 pm #1110991popa_bar_abbaParticipantAs it turns out, if it was rotten, there were no ill effects. I shouldn’t have thrown the rest out so fast.
October 24, 2011 5:21 pm at 5:21 pm #1110992ToiParticipantpopa- aged meat is a delicacy. enjoy!
November 3, 2015 11:31 pm at 11:31 pm #1110993skripkaParticipanti just had the rest of poppas fleish at my local restaurant- it still works!
November 4, 2015 2:29 am at 2:29 am #1110994MammeleParticipantI’m still scratching my head over week old deli “ostensibly being cooked for Pesach”. But I guess PBAs threads don’t need to make sense…
November 8, 2015 2:51 am at 2:51 am #1110995oomisParticipantNot so funny – I ate a TINY piece of what turned out to be spoiled food at a kiddush, and had food poisoning within a half hour. It did not taste “off” in any way. Other people came forward a week later, mentioning that they had also become ill.
