Please be aware of an individual who comes up to people at airports (have been reports from JFK , EWR and others) and claims he needs money for the train to Boston or any other lance because he lost his card, wallet etc. He usually starts the conversation with “Do you speak Hebrew”? His description is about 5’ 6” Bald , Pot belly. He sometimes tells people his name is Eli Avidan and there’s reports he has an ID with this name. Please spread this. Thanks!

He’s probably a sick individual and you should be happy he doesn’t (didn’t) try to mug you

There was a similar (maybe same) person that did this around Penn Station in Midtown Manhattan a few years ago.

This is an old scam. It was being done in Penn Station, Grand Central and the Port Authority Bus Terminal back in the 1980’s.

but maybe he really needs money, and he just came up with an idea thinking that this will help him make money, doesn’t he deserve to be given Tsedaka? do you check out every beggar or meshulach asking for money if he really needs it?
