I like going to ALDI as they really have the cheapest prices on a lot of grocery items. I recently was told that it’s a German company and the founder was a anti Semitic Nazi. A quick internet search revealed that is a German company but not much info about him being a Nazi. Does anyone know anything more about this?

If you are so worried about this dont buy anything from Bayer (Aspirin) or BASF. Bayer, AGFA and Sonofi.

These companies are the daughter companies of IG Farben who made the Zyklon B , “Gift Gas” that was used in Auschwitz

The IBM numbering system was used for tattooing prisoners in Auschwitz, presumably this does not stop you using a PC.

That’s a good thing, writersoul, as it probably means you don’t wear Hugo Boss.

*I do. I fished it out of some rich lady’s dumpster and wear it with worn All-Stars and daisies in my hair*

Aldi also owns Trader Joe’s. I went to the Aldi at Gateway Mall in Brooklyn and was very disappointed. They have a tiny selection and very few items with any kind of hashgacha. Not too surprisingly, there were few customers. I’ve been to an Aldi upstate and it was a little better.

Aldi’s does not own Trader Joe. The owners are cousins, and I’d guess the Aldi cousin is the poorer one. Anyway, Aldis now has a few stores (at least one I know of) in NYC. It’s real hit and miss insofar as kashrus. For example, they had a really tasty microwave popcorn in their Clancy line with an OU. Now I can rarely find the OU, apparently comes from a different plant. But decent produce, very good prices, strange brands that you’ll never see anywhere else.
