Should criminals be turned into slaves, in accordance with the Thirteenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution?
Joseph, the 13th Amendment refers to involuntary servitude, not slavery per se. Convicted criminal do, in fact, perform mandatory labor and are, in some States, “rented out” to perform such labor for private entities. As far as selling them as chattel slaves, to whom could they be sold? Once sold, they would no longer incarcerated and subject to the 13th. so no private or corporate entity could legally own them. Any such sale would be void ab initio .
that used to happen. they were called chain gangs or something
It is already routinely happening in the U.S., although they don’t use the term “slavery” for it.
Sometimes frum Jews are convicted of commiting a crimes, You know this would apply to them too
Who wants a criminal as a slave?
I’m sure they’ll be required to be treated better than those illegals that some folks are so keen on “protecting”. The things they do to those folks should be illegal….but they are.
There are contradictory methods of slavery
One brings the servant up
the other holds him/her downwe of course are proponents of the former
