Someone got a computer fully intending to use it for only proper things. But now, instead of doing that, this person is asking random people on the internet questions about the chinuch of his/her children, and halachic questions such as hilchos gezeilah! Should such a person break their own computer, so they will be more inclined to ask an actual Rav?

No. Breaking a computer is always wrong, as they can be sold on Ebay using a borrowed computer.

Destroying one’s own property is an Issur of Bal Tashchis. If a person’s property is causing them more harm than good (e.g. wasting too much time on the internet) then presumably it is Muttar for one to break their own property.

Especially if such property happens to be a tree near a city under siege.

Why break it if you can give it away?

If the question was should one rid oneself of it, is “Obviously” not the correct answer?

I think the OP was just making a satire of another thread from a while ago

Obviously. I’ve started to think the bumper knows that perfectly well, and I think that’s starting to be obvious too.

As of this posting, it reads you started this post about three months ago. By now the computer should be well on it’s way to being broken on it’s own accord.
