On MBD’s Album titled “Original Chassidic Classics” there is a song titled “Hashiveinu”. On Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach’s Album titled “The Last Shabbos In Galus” there is a song titled “Hashiveinu”. If you go and listen to both of them you will hear that that have strikingly similar high parts. My question is:
    Who is the original composer?

Many early MBD recorded music was written by R’ Shlomo Carlebach. For example Vchol Maminim is R’ Shlomo’s Tov lehodos. so it is possible that it is a RCS compostion sung by MBD.

Pretty safe to assume that any song by Carlebach and anyone else, was composed by Carlebach first. Exceptions that come to mind being the obvious Kumbaya on Shifchi Kamayim, and Volt Ich Gehat Koach on Songs of Shabbos.
