I just want to help out the matzav.
(I assume you mean creating a thread to post about sems and not necessitate hijacking anyone else’s thread. So here goes:)
How come there are all these threads about seminaries and none about high schools? I would think the choice of 4 years’ education is more important than one years’.
The parents have a lot more input into high school than seminary, and 8th graders have less internet access than 12th graders.
I wasn’t on here till 9th grade….8th graders arent really on the CR
There are also a lot less choices for high schools in most cities and towns than there are Seminaries and Yeshivos in Israel… You go from having 3 or 4 choices (maybe) to having to deal with 20 or 30 choices – and because they’re an ocean away, it’s difficult to get clear exactly what each of the schools “are”
There are 39 year old eighth graders.
Plus most people stick to HS’s in their city.

As a student or a teacher? Or are you joking?
A. Manhattan HS for girls or Prospect
B. Depends on what kind of guy you’re looking for in a few years, which is highly influenced by your HS
C. Bais Yaakov of Boro Park, where there is more fun and less academics than most schools.
I assume you’re not looking for a chassidish one, in which case A. is popularly considered Bais Bracha, B is B or Tomer Devora, and C is BYBP or Vien.
