uh i know u guys are gonna shoot me if i start abbout why this is on ywn (i had to say that!) but i wont.

the only thing i want to say is that i think that we should use the tehillim for more kadosh things than baseball. dont u think? i think the tehillim is the most amig gift ever and should not be abused.

look for the positive. maybe they bet a lot of money on the Yankees to win and they are saying tehillim for parnossa

Here is why the Yankees are going to lose:

Game 6: The Yankees are not going to score more than 3 off of Saunders. Pettitte will be overmatched this time against the right-handed heavy Angels.

Game 7: CC Sabathia will get torched (think ’04) and this will end up with a score somewhere along the lines of 9-2. Weaver will pitch well. I know Sabathia’s been ridiculously good of late, but let me just point out that on 11 different occasions this year, he gave up 4 or more runs. He may have pitched well recently, but the guy is far from unbeatable.

The Yankees have overachieved all year. There’s no reason to expect that to continue.

Sunflower, I think sports in general get more prayers from everyone than anything else. Sad, but true.

    Prayer in sports.

Football has the pass named after the prayer that asks a female to make it hail. One college football team even has a getchka in the end zone named “touchdown yashka”.

Basketball players huddle at center court prior to tip off and again after the game for a “prayer circle”, although I suspect they are really discussing which bar to hit after they shower. But they do try and pass it off as prayer.

Baseball players make a sign reminiscent of the addition sign, across their chest, prior to stepping into the batetrs box.

Hockey, well even though it is an exciting sport and fun to watch, it isnt a major sport it seems, perhaps because their players dont pray out on the ice. Perhaps I should alert the comissioner and we will start to see prayer beads hanging from the nets.

    I can only try:

    the weather started getting rough,

    the tiny ship was tossed

if not for the courage of the fearless crew

    the minnow would be lost!

    =nasty storm out there!

Hashem is Everywhere, when I was in yeshiva I used to talk baseball with my fellow tablemates on shabbos. Someone nearby asked us to stop the baseball talk. He was shmoozing with his friends, telling over camp stories involving his friends and saying lashon hara. Indeed, a kula de’asi lidei kula. Finally, a thread on CR that does not involve machlokes, sinas chinam, and lashon hara on gedolim, and you want it closed?

I hate the Yankees, but NY needs the revenue.

    Jax-

Do you think the Yankees will end up shipwrecked?

The Angels seem to have their number.

What could all of the yanks fans talk about. In 2011,12 the Yankees can’t hit in the playoffs. They spend 200 million plus a year and can’t win the World series.
