Being that we refuse to eat Pesach food for a day longer than needed,we’ve been ordering out since Monday night. Our oven and stove both are pesachdik which makes it difficult for us to eat anything chometz. It is expensive but this is the one time a year that we do this.

We don’t eat hot dogs on Pesach; therefore, we can’t make them on our stove or in the oven. And chicken we’re going to have all yuntif, can’t have it now too:(

i neve figured out why people make a pesach kitchen. I think people should make a chometz kitchen instead. THe week after purim you should kasher you regular kitchen and go to your chometz kitchen and you can cook supper until pesach. That way you can cook for pesach with more than 4 inches on each side of you. What do you think?

We just recived an invitation to attend the 1st Seder at the White House.

Does anyone know what Hechsher they use at the White House for the Seder? whether they provide hand baked or machine baked Matzos?

I believe that they shall serve Yayin Mevushol for the 4 cups, so this shall be a non issue, despite there being Heathens also invited to the Seder at the White House.

It is also my understanding, that there shall be no problems getting the Afikomen in before Chatozs, and even the 4th cup, as per the Remo, at this White House Seder.

Why not just eat kitniyot for the week before Pesach? You can make it in your Pesach post, and eat it on your Pesach dishes.

and likewise utilize Egg Matzo as a staple during the week before Pesach, maybe to spread cream cheese & jam, and recite Mezonos, and on Shabbos haGodol, after a kezyis/Beitzo of bread in a corner, continue onto a Kosher lePesach meal, which too can be suplemented by egg Matzo.

Furthermore, you shall thereby have Mezonos in the house immediately after Pesach, when these egg Matzos can again be consumed, and they can be owned/possessed during Pesach.

In past years, the Obama’s Seder was only “Kosher Style”. I’d suggest that you contact Rabbi Levi Shemtov for verification.

Here’s an idea- if you don’t eat gebrokts on Pesah, you could probably eat potato starch items or can even cook kitniyos on your Pesah pots and pans in the weeks leading to Pesah. I wouldn’t think people would think corn on the cob or dried untreated beans would be an issue for their pots and pans.

For those who eat matzah meal, their options are obviously far greater for this period of time.

We actually considered having a seperate chametz kitchen. We ended up not getting around to making it, but our regular kitchen gets kashered. We worked really hard getting everything made of materials that can be kashered without any stainless steel… the sinks are black granite. Even the table is wood, so we kasher it.

Our Rov told us not to cook kitniyos in our Pesach pots. We had to have a special pot for our baby who needed cereal and all that was available for kitniyos. He said it was okay to use the pot for children but not for adults. Why would you want to cook kitniyos in your Pesach-dig pots?

Why would you want to cook kitniyos in your Pesach-dig pots?

Because kitniyot is not chametz, and it’s certainly permissible. In fact, our home will be KFP a week before the chag begins, and will will hot meals made with kitniyot for that week. No muss, no fuss.

Quoting Rav Aviner, shlita, regarding an Askenazi eating in a Sfardi home on Pesach:

Q: I am Ashkenazi. Is it permissible for me to spend Seder night at the house of a Sefardi who eats Kitniyot?

A: Yes, but don’t eat Kitniyot. It is permissible, however, to eat: food which touched Kitniyot, food which absorbed Kitniyot, food in which the Kitniyot are no longer recognizable and are nullified in a majority, and food cooked in Kitniyot pots and pans (Shut She’eilat Shlomo 3:141).

I am also thinking that a chometz kitchen makes sense.

Pizza eaten out was a regular staple by us. We try to eat out more often this time of year, b’davka because as I am an extremely hard-worker in my pre-Pesach preps (try saying THAT three times fast!), I DESERVE IT!!!! :p
