I recently got over anorexia and whenever I think about it, something important often comes to mind… the friends and siblings. Theyre both put into a hard position because they have no idea how to react. I want to try to help with that. If anyone out there has a friend or sibling suffering from an eating disorder, you can post your questions or comments and ill be happy to answer them.

April 27, 2014 12:49 pm at 12:49 pm #1012569☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantIf that’s the case, he’s obviously assuming that anyone who has ever had any type of eating disorder is in danger of a relapse from fasting. Sounds like a bit of a stretch, especially since not all eating disorders are the same.
As always, ask a competent posek, and don’t rely on info from anonymous internet sources, even when quoting known poskim.
April 27, 2014 1:33 pm at 1:33 pm #1012570zahavasdadParticipantIts interesting when some quote Psks that they like (Like the Rav Wosner one) the response is Rav Wosner said it and you’;d better listen, but when someone quotes a Psak that actually is easier to verify the response is very different.
Rav Dovid Cohen has worked with recovering Anoxerics and Bullemics for years (among other people he has worked with). One never really fully recovers from anoxeria or Bullemia
April 27, 2014 1:37 pm at 1:37 pm #1012571☕ DaasYochid ☕ParticipantI don’t know to whom you refer, but I wouldn’t accept an anonymously quoted psak from anyone, including R’ Wosner.
April 27, 2014 4:37 pm at 4:37 pm #1012572business1Participant@the goq… thank you. Im actually of the same opinion. Although therapists help, they will never truly understand. @zahavasdad, youre completely right. It is not something that one can get over and it requires constant work.
April 27, 2014 7:48 pm at 7:48 pm #1012573TheGoqParticipantMay I ask at what age you started being affected by this?
