In South Africa at a zionist school 2
Fifteen year olds “took a knee”
    The school first condemned the
    action, then withdrew.
What is the world coming to next
Freedom of speech in schools will
    include shouting out the answers
    in exams,demonstrating one
    Is dissatisfied with the syllabus
    How mad have we become?

Not sure we’re getting all the details. When frum yidden end up having to go to zionist schools because they’re forced to based on where they live, I think it’s pretty common to avoid taking part in the religious-Zionist activities.

Were they doing it for religious reasons or political reasons to be like the NFL players?

They were doing it for political
    reasons
However when a parent chooses a
School they and the children have
    To respect the ethos
    Or move

Why should they not have freedom of speech, other than the slippery slope argument?

Because we often “forfeit” our freedom of speech or bargain it away. When we work in a company — “freedom of speech” is not protected – not only because obviously the “freedom of speech” is protected (as you stated) only from governmental action — but because we make a deal with the employer. I will give you a job and you will not do anything that i believe is against the interests of the company. (Some states do protect employers from being fired because of the employee’s particular views). When you go to a yeshivshe school — you agree to wear a jacket or hat or stockings or flats. You are giving up this “right” in order to gain admission to the school. A student has (and rightfully so — very few “rights” in school).

You guys are making a very misinformed hanocho. There is no such idea as free speech being a right, like an actual right, outside of the US where it’s a part of the constitution. In europe, the UK, canada, south africa, etc. there is no such “right” enshrined by law. So this whole thread is dumb, because who gave them the right to take a knee where freedom of speech/expression doesn’t exist?

Legal rights are not the same as natural rights.

When one belongs to a mosque
and reads aloud from the Torah
    They would be ejected forthwith
    No freedom of speech or
    religion
Same goes in a shul reading
    the koran
Pray tell where is the freedom
    Fact is there are limits
Join a club you sign up for an ethos

    Absolutely they joined a club
    They ask about your allegiances
    To Zionism at interview
It’s not called hertzliya for nothing

Why do you start a new line

    within a sentence
    or paragraph?
