I have heard contradictory advice from otherwise smart & well-meaning people regarding marriage & shidduchim, I’m curious to hear from others what was the best or worst advice you were told.
I could write a book on the topic (worst advice that is)!
Best advice: Get married young.
Worst advice: Wait before jumping into marriage.
Worst Advice: Post your shidduch questions on a public forum:
Best advice: Follow your head, then your heart and if all else fails, follow the eitzah from Joseph.

Worst advice: Keep going out with the guy even though you can’t stand him and would never possibly consider marrying him, even though (or because) he wants to marry you and doesn’t realize that you can’t stand him.
How often I was told this: Too many times to count.

Best advice: It’s time to stand up for yourself, and say “No” to what you will not accept in your life. Hashem put this person in your life as your opportunity to clarify what you want and what you don’t.
