Why must the business, school, etc. day start at 8 or 9 o’clock? It would be so much easier for people if the day started rolling at 9 or 10 o’clock. Businesses and schools should start opening at 10 instead of 9. (Or an hour earlier than whatever time they are currently scheduled for. i.e. 9 o’clock instead of 8; or 8 instead of 7; etc.)
And everything will end/close and hour later.

Because those of us who have days that end at 8PM right now don’t want them to end even later
There are many job where a late start is possible. The problem is a late start means a late finish. And many frum workers prefer to start early and finish late in order to being able to take off Fridays and around our holiday periods. Most people prefer an earlier starting and ending time. Families with two parents sharing child care often prefer one parent starting late (after the kids go to school) and the other starting early in order to be home when the kids finish school. No big deal.
Early and late are relative. If you go to sleep at nine, six is already late. I f you go to sleep at 2 am then everything is early.
