With the Spring weather arriving that cabin fever is breaking, for those that enjoy the outdoors and the natural world, here’s a forum to discuss destinations, hikes, trails or other things to do and places to go. Pleaase share the place you’ve been to or plan on visiting…should be based in NY State and it’s neighbors.
Can include – Hiking, biking, camping, kayaking, rafting, boating, waterskiing, jetskiing, rappelling….
– Mohonk Mountain House is a beautiful hidden gem up in New Paltz. Check out their website, Mohonk.com
– of course, going down the Delaware is nice, or th Lackawaxen river on a day the dam is realeased.
– I’ll be camping with friends over Memorial Day weekend (not Shabbos:)

If you like the outdoors and the natural world, head to New England. Acadia NP in Maine, especially in the fall. Worth the trip.
squeak or anyone else- do you know any nice places to visit in southern maine? Acadia NP is far. Looking into something closer.
There are several trails along the old Catskill Railroad route where you can go hiking and biking.
There are also a couple of areas where stretches of the old railroad have been rehabilitated and you can take a scenic ride through the mountains on an ancient steam locomotive.
