I was wondering if anyone has ever been to a store called “just smoke and mirrors” in Flatbush? They sell great serving items, tabletop dishes and things for the house. Really great inexpensive prices and amazing selection…I just bought a oven to table dish that is made from stoneware. does anyone know if it has to be toiveled? with or without brocha?
Also I usually make cheesecake in spring form pans with glass plates do you think i could do it in stoneware?
Please refer to your LOR. Mine says stoneware (such as crockpot inserts) do not require toiveling.
If it’s glazed, it might (ask LOR), but definitely without a bracha. If it’s not glazed, it definitely does not requite tevila.
Sorry, glazed ceramic ware such as porcelin, china, and crockpot insets require tevillah. unglazed earthenware does not. “Stoneware” is a trade name (it’s not really made of stone)for a particular style of glazed ceramic and does require tevillah.
ask a shailah it is not as straightforward as the above post implies
