I’m appealing too YWN readers for help .This is the story. Around 13 years ago I damaged a Toyota Cressida in Lakewood while I was there for a day. At the time I didn’t try hard enough to find the owner.I’ve been trying to find the owner for the last number of years, and have been unsuccessful. If anyone has any info. to help me out-even if you just know someone who owned such a car, please contact me asap.My e-mail address is [email protected]

Keep in mind,he created this “great” example because he was a hit and run driver. All he had to do was copy down the license number or leave his name and number on the windshield.

Hit and run? Why assume malice where none exists? Why not assume righteousness that stares at you?

He said he tried to find the owner at the time. He now feels that “at the time I didn’t try hard enough.”

A Yid could question himself as not having tried hard enough to pay someone else.

lesschumras: And if he ran off then, but feels remorseful now and wants to repent, whats wrong with that? That’s exactly what you and I are going to do for the next month.

Or he may have left a message, not heard from anyone but it was raining that day so maybe the message got ruined, and he could have tried harder to track the owner down.

OK, that’s my contribution to “let’s be dan lecaf zechus.”

And P.S. Let’s say that you were right, and he was hit and run. Why be so cynical?

The past is the past, we can’t change it, but we can try to fix the negative aspects of it as much as we can. If one ignores the wrongs they have done in the past, it may come to bite them in the tush in the future.

I’ll do some research, and try to help you out to the best of my abilities. Do you remember where this incident occurred in Lakewood? Do you know the color of the car?

yoshi, the original poster may not be checking the thread. He left his email address above. Why not drop him a message?

Unfortunately I don’t remember the color of the car. I’m not 100% sure, but I think it had NY plates. It happened in one of BMG’s parking lots.

Yasher koiach Mordechai – but chances are that the car has been sold or junked by now and the original owner hardly remembers or cares about what happened. Still, you have provided a really great example for all of us! A gut gebensched yohr!
