    I don’t think that’s a fact.

It’s not a problem because apparently only Jews living in the 5 Towns know where the 5 Towns is. Everyone else thinks it’s in Brooklyn.

🤣😂 Thank you for this post, made my day -29

    Phil,

What are you talking about? Far rockawayers know where the 5 towns are, they have to go shopping there/eat out there

Honestly none of this really matters. All that matters is that we must fight for our communities, and stick up for our people. We’re all Jews and there shouldn’t be any hatred amongst us!!!!

Coffee addict, I was just exaggerating a bit but still not everyone, even upstate New Yorkers, know where the 5 Towns is. But thanks for educating me on the general area of 5 Towns 🙂

JustaJew39, we don’t hate each other at all! Kol Yisroel areivim zeh lzeh. Still this is an important topic. Women who are not b’tznius are nichshal others and there’s nothing wrong with discussing this vital topic.

    Just a Jew
You have made offensive comments about almost everyone who has posted on this thread.
How does that even make sense?
You are smashing and insulting and excoriating SPECIFIC people here on this thread.
The moderators know who they are and perhaps many Others also know.
All in your quest to advance an agenda of tolerance and not judging others????
Your hypocrisy is not even subtle.
    It’s plain bewildering.
And yes it is OK to publicize certain wrongdoings of others and it is not lashon hara
The רמב”ם says מצוה לפרסם עושי רשעה.
In order that others don’t learn from them
If someone defends a person who is being עובר עבירה according to many ראשונים he is עובר לאו ד-לא תחניפו את הארץ

Besides that your entire defense is lunacy.
Others claim the 5towns are a bastion of promiscuity. I AM NOT TAKING THAT OPINION. I HAVE NO OPINION AS I HAVE ZERO KNOWLEDGE ABOUT IT.
you are responding that the 5 towns are a bastion of Torah and chesed.
Are those two things mutually exclusive?
How is your post a defense?

There may be Torah there, but materialism is out of control there.

So what? Other places have a high amount of materialism too (just look at the ads for Pesach hotels, and no the idea wasn’t just for the 5 towns)

Additionally I could knock any community for anything I want (being true of course)

Once materialism in the 5 towns was accepted by certain people, it started becoming acceptable in other places.

I didn’t know the 5 towns had so much השפעה to the rest of the world

Even to people that don’t know where it os

I just want to say that Im insulted for someone mentioning in the other 5t tznius thread that 5t is trying to be the “new lakewood”. ABSOLUTELY NOT. if that is the trend happening now Im moving right out! first of all thats classic “in-town” talk. who came first: 5 towns or lakewood (as it is now)? the answer is 5 towns my friends. there is NOTHING that 5 towns is trying to copy from lakewood-just look at 5 towns prices!! Lakewood is a branch off from BK. end of story. I rest my case.

Ha. Facts don’t care about your feelings. If a town has an epidemic for halachah-ignoring behavior, the world deserves to know.

“. . . 5T may seem OOT but it really has it all from the perspective of a frum couple or family seeking to relocate but stay close to real world . . .”

You’re living in a fantasy world, my friend. The “real world,” such as it is, is not anywhere on the western side of the Atlantic. Your 5T is certainly OOT, as is Monsey, Williamsburg, Boro Park, Flatbush, Lakewood, and the list goes on and on.

It’s sad that the “frum couple or family” you mention so often treats E”Y as a spiritual Disneyland, but never gives a thought to what Hashem has written in his Torah over and over again. It’s amazing to me that I can visit the U.S. and see people read the words “וקבצנו מארבע כנפות הארץ לארצנו “, yet it apparently makes no impact.

It’s assur to leave Eretz Yisroel for a visit.

My parents were ill and dying, and then for the shiva,. Still going to maintain that it’s assur?

    Yes.

Still better to be here than there.

Of course not, but you’ve got to stop assuming those of us living in chu”l don’t also have valid reasons.

You violate a bigger issur for leaving than anyone who doesn’t live there might violate for not moving there.
