“what is the percentage of the people who go totaling %100?”

Based on the questions you asked, the total can easily add up to more than 100%

MA: Without surveying the people who go to Uman, there is no way to answer your question.

someone that goes there every year has a good picture of the situation. sure it might grow every year.

copy & paste the 4 reasons why people go & let everyone know what YOUR OPINION IS about uman

Big Boy – How do you print and bind a three sided page into a Gemara. Also who says the Uman is referring to a town in Ukraine maybe it refers to somewhere in Yemen, or perhaps it’s in Ireland and was called O’Mon. The Talmud was written in 500 CE while Jews didn’t reach the Ukraine until 1030, over 500 years later. But Jews were living Yemen since the destruction of the Bais Hamikdash. By the way how does Rashi explain “ein ani mochel lach ad sh’teilech l’uman”. Is Shota in Bavli or Yerashalmi?

i try to go every year b”H but answers are subjective

how many go cause they are Breslov? % probably 25 to 35%

how many go cause they believe in the segula of going? close to 100%. you wouldnt go if you didnt believe in there being some sigificance to going. there s closer, cheaper, more comfortable places to go if you just want to party.

how many go for the entertainment? % define entertainment. do you mean the concerts? seeing friends ? plenty of both . but not the primary reason for going.

how many go to get away from home? % definitely a temptation for some depending on their home circumstances. but again, easier places to go, so not the primary reason for going.

    hope that helped.

A large percentage of the Nachmanites whose airline reservations to Uman in prior years turned out to be coupons for time-share vacations in Baluchistan have reported a segulah resulting from purchasing their airline tickets directly from El Al.

It is wrong and selfish to leave your family for yom tov. It shows that your priorities are helplessly confused.

Ok OK! Here we go again every year… year after year…., to all those of you who are still wandering though life, lets first start of with “If you never EVER opened a Breslev sefer or have never EVER been to Uman, PLEASE PLEASE get of this page right now!!!! You are not privileged to partake in this conversation. NOW, since those who are continuing to read on have some sense in what is going on… Welcome to the world past Rabbeinu. The Samach Mem is extremely strong especially now before we go to din on Rosh Hashanah. So get ready, we will be hearing a lot of this over the next 2 weeks. Lets start to answer to original questions:

what are the numbers of people that go? AROUND 50,000

what is the percentage of the people who go totaling %100? NOT A CLEAR QUESTION

how many go cause they are Breslov? % THE QUESTION IS A LITTLE OFF, BECAUSE “ARE BRESLOV” MEANS THEY “ARE BRESLOV CHASSIDIM”. BUT WITHIN THE TEACHINGS OF RABBEINU, YOU REALLY JUST NEED TO BE WHO YOU ARE, AND JUST LEARN THE EITZOS (ADVISE) OF RABBEINU IN ORDER TO LIVE AND UNDERSTAND THE SENSE THAT THIS WORLD HAS TO OFFER. (MUCH MORE OF THIS IDEA CAN BE FOUND ONLINE OR IN SEFORIM)

how many go cause they believe in the segula of going? % AGAIN THAT WORD “BELIEVE” IS THROWING THINGS OFF. THIS NEEDS TO BE LEARNED THOROUGHLY IN DETAIL FROM SHIURIM AND SEFORIM. (ITS NOT A Q/A FOR AN ONLINE CHITTY CHAT)

how many go for the entertainment? % THIS I WILL AGREE THAT MANY (WOOW WOOW I DIDNT SAY MOST OR ALL, I SAID MANY, AND THAT MIGHT BE THOUSANDS, REMEMBER THE FIRST ANSWER IS ABOUT 50,000 PEOPLE). OK SO YES I WOULD AGREE THAT MANY COME FOR ENTERTAINMENT. HOWEVER, MOST OF THOSE “MANY” COME BACK HOME WITH SOME AWAKENING THAT THEY DIDN’T EVEN THINK OF GETTING BEFORE GOING. THIS HAS BEEN THE CASE FOR SO MANY PEOPLE THAT COME BACK EVERY SINGLE YEAR BECAUSE THEY HAVE A BIG ALIYAS HATSHUVA THAT THEY NEVER REALIZED THEY CAN GET ANYWHERE ELSE.

how many go to get away from home? % HAAAA!!! THIS QUESTION IS THE BIGGEST PROOF THAT YOU HAVE NEVER BEEN THERE BEFORE AT ALL. JUST BY SAYING THE WORD UKRAINE ALREADY DOESNT GIVE ANYONE THE SAME VIBE AS MIAMI OR CANCUN! THERE IS ONLY ONE PLACE THAT YOU NEED TO MAKE THIS TRIP FOR AND THAT IS TO SCREAM AND CRY TO RABBEINU BY THE TZION TO HAVE HIM BACK YOU UP ON THE YOM HADIN AFTER ALL THE SHTUSIM WE INVOLVE OURSELVES WITH DURING THE YEAR. YES THE SECRET IS OUT, YOU ARE A NORMAL PERSON!!!! ALL THE UGLY THOUGHTS YOU HAVE, WE ALL HAVE THEM TOO!! BUT WE DEEP DOWN KNOW THAT HASHEM IS THE ULTIMATE AND THATS WHERE WE CAME FROM AND THATS WHERE WE ARE HEADED BACK TO. SO DURING THESE “FEW” YEARS THAT WERE HERE ON THIS WORLD WE NEED TO MAKE SURE THAT WE CAN ELEVATE OUR MIND ABOVE AND BEYOND THE ANTI HASHEM ENVIRONMENT THAT WE SEE ALL OVER THE WORLD. THAT IS WHERE BRESLEV COMES IN MOST BEFITTING. I HAVE NEVER WITNESSED BY CHASSIDIM, LITVISH, SFARDIM, AMERICANS, ISRAELIS, GEDOLIM, TALMIDEI CHACHOMIM AND EVERYONE ELSE, THAT WE CAN HAVE SO MUCH INFORMATION ON THIS WORLD THAT MATCHES AND CAN BE SEEN IN REAL LIFE IN FRONT ON OUR OWN EYES AS RABBEINU TEACHES US WITH HIS HOLY WISDOM OF TORAH. WITH THAT BEING SAID UMAN IS NOT A PLACE FOR VACATIONING OR “GETTING AWAY FROM HOME” LIKE YOU SAID. THE STRUGGLES OF GETTING THERE ARE TREMENDOUS!!! MANY PEOPLE ARE TAKING 2 FIGHTS TO UKRAINE, THEN A 3 HOUR CAR DRIVE, THE STREETS ARE MUDDY, MOST OF THE “ACCOMMODATIONS” ARE JUST MATTRESSES, YOU HARDLY SLEEP, FOOD IS NOT “HOMEMADE”, YOU COME BACK PHYSICALLY WORN, BUT OF COURSE SPIRITUALLY UPLIFTED AND RENEWED. I THINK TO STAY HOME IN YOUR OWN BED, WITH YOUR STYLE FOOD AND YOUR WIFE AND KIDS IS A MORE ATTRACTIVE OPTION BUT POSSIBLY A LITTLE SELFISH WHEN YOUR LOOKING AT THE YOM HADIN FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY OF THE UPCOMING YEAR.

Also, to answer the question regarding the Gemara in Tannis, for those of you who learn, know that the Gemara is speaking about an “Uman” which is translated in English to a “Craft-maker”. The Gemara says to go back to the craft-maker who made me. Now for whoever has read everything I wrote can understand the significance between Rabbeinu and the word Uman. The Rebbe has crafted us into the being that Hashem has created. With the Rebbes help we can have our minds fill our neshamos to serve the purpose of our bodies and our life. The word Uman also is connected to Emuna (Belief) and the word Amen (Truth). We all need to take a deeper look into the wondrous teachings of Rabbeinu, to be able to come the truth and believe that everything Hashem does is for the best.

    EmesIsTruth – Well said!

    – You said what the obstacles are like to going, internal thoughts and fears, external pressures etc. People putting others off (like in the Rebbe’s story “The Rabbi’s Son”).

    – Like you said if people just wanted to get away from home, they could find a lot nicer places to go that to a small town in the middle of the Ukraine.

    – To go and come away with a taste of true Yiddshkeit and Emunah, its worth all the problems and struggles to get there.

Leaving Eretz Yisroel to daven in Uman on Rosh HaShana is idolatrous.
