What gives a house that homey feel? What things are a must to have in a house in order to get that great feeling when you walk into your home?

It’s all from love. Family love. Plus some Chasidishe varimkeit helps, of course.

With that you can live in the poorest, most run down and beat up house that has nothing fancy other than second-hand stuff. But you’ll have the warmest home and the most loveliest brood of kinderlach.

Was wondering the same thing recently. I came to the conclusion that as cliche as it sounds, and despite me always thinking that it would be baloney, a healthy peacfull family is key. When there’s tension or hate, the subconscious cringing and shields of defense destroy menuchas hanefesh. If its shaky, then no matter how warm looking it may be in reality, but it will be impossible to see it and feel it.
Conversely, i think even a home that isn’t as well groomed but has familial harmony radiates warmth.

You come to associate it with how it makes you feel in the environment.

Sounds lame but ive come to believe it.

That being said, there was a machlokes here a while back about modern furniture and whatnot. Personally im of the opinion that this may take away that feeling a lil. Hope more people care about warm homes like this and continue focusing on the important things in life. May your all your homes be filled with warmth and happiness everyone.

So can you have a warm home if you are living there as a single person? Would you have to just keep the lights on always so you can feel someone’s there? Especially when you walk in to the house…
