put garlic base, it smells like garlic and not everyone likes it but it strenghthens the nails and afterwords paint them with a light color or however youlike, but dont forget to put at the end seetrue nailpolish so they can dry faster and strenthen your nails.

I read the B Vitamin Biotin can help 2.5 mg. daily. Brittle Nails could be a sign of an underactive Thyroid. Perhaps your Primary care Physcian could examine this. Evening Primrose Oil has Gamma Linolenic Oil which has shown to help Brittle Nails. Fish Oils and I think Flax (Linseed Oil) can also help. Brittle Nails can be a sign of a poor diet, so you may want to make substitution changes. Comments from our Resident Physcians in the CR who have a proclivity to Natural Remedies will be appreciated. Smart Cookie I hope this helps good luck.

Garlic crusted nails, yummy. Adding raw onions to strengthen those sore gums, and fresh horseraddish for thicker hair roots, will definitely rank high on the local shiddush listings. 🙂

Weak nail can certainly be a sign of a medical issue but assuming that the nails are simply weak…

I strongly suggest that you keep the nails clean and try a mild clear coat of polish, may need to reapply every other day for a while.

re smalltown girl, here’s an example: Nails that seem to peel in layers is one of the symptoms of hyperthyroidism.

Try drinking a glass of milk, and a serving of cheese on a daily basis.

also try adding vitamin A to your diet. A shortage of vitamin A or calcium

might be the cause of this. Alcohol, coffee, or excessive iron can all deplete your body’s supply of this essential vitamin.

    Ten vitamin A-rich foods:

    liver

    sweet potatos

    carrots

    mangoes

    spinach

    cantaloupe

    dried apricots

    milk

    egg yolks

    mozzarella cheese

One more idea, smartcookie — strengthening nail polish.

Bein_H Here is an important yesh omrim. Dairy products, cheese in particular end up at the end of the cycle as an acid product. The body carefully monitors the neutral PH of the blood. Acid food waste alters the balance. To right the balance the body will pull calcium from the bones to reach neutral PH. The spent calcium compound is then flushed away with the urine. In short, milk and cookies are bad for you. Better calcium comes from dark green leafy vegetbles, you know, the buggy ones.
