[sic]
p.s.
May 9, 2016 8:20 pm at 8:20 pm #1151488MenoParticipant[sic] doesn’t stand for anything. It’s something you write when you want to quote someone but that person used incorrect spelling or grammar. You write that to indicate that the incorrect grammar/spelling is their mistake, not yours.
P.S. stands for “Postscript”
May 9, 2016 9:06 pm at 9:06 pm #1151489EnderParticipantSic is used when you are quoting something with a mistake in the original statement. You use it to demonstrate that the mistake was in the original and is not our mistake. It stands for sic erat scriptum, which means thus was it written.
P.s. Stands for Post Scriptum.

May 10, 2016 7:15 pm at 7:15 pm #1151492old manParticipant?????? ???? ??????
May 10, 2016 9:58 pm at 9:58 pm #1151493Geordie613Participantold man, That’s when it’s used after a person’s name.
When used after a place name it’s ???? ???? ?????.
May 11, 2016 2:27 am at 2:27 am #1151494–ParticipantWhat if is says ??”? [sic]?
May 11, 2016 10:01 am at 10:01 am #1151495Geordie613ParticipantYou raise a good point. It should say ??”? [sic], because ???? refers to ???? being masculine, but ???? implies she is feminine. So correctly it should be either ???? ???? ????? or ???? ???? ?????. I have the same issue with the popular abbreviation used after a name ??”?, ????? ??? ?????. It should be ??”?.
and don’t start with me on taleisim, shabbosim etc.
May 11, 2016 3:00 pm at 3:00 pm #1151496screwdriverdelightParticipantthe g’mara often uses the word ???? as masculine.
For example, gittin 12b- ???? ??? ???? ????? ???? ??? ??? ??????
May 11, 2016 4:16 pm at 4:16 pm #1151497Avi KParticipant[sic] is short for “sic erat scriptum”, “thus was it written” in Latin.
