I was recently on a shidduch date and the person asks me “What do you like to do for fun?”
What do I like to do for fun? Well, can you please define the word fun? I don’t remember the last time I heard that word. I’m so busy with work, school, and life in general. I basically have no time for myself. So, how do I answer this question without sounding so boring and as if I dont have a life?

Well I think u answered the question there, it seems like ur not into fun. You seem more focused and have goals you’d like to acheive well I think that’s comendable. Seems like u do have a life and have a head on ur shoulders Who says you have be the “fun type”.
But the person just wants to know what u do when ur not at school orwork or studying. Do u spend time with friends, shop, sleep, chill,or just read the yated.

maybe sort of like a hobby or how to appreciate HaShem’s beautiful world, I enjoy taking walks in nice large hopefully relatively quiet parks. Perhaps to travel as well.
Fun related maybe to non inconme oriented activities, not like trying to convince people to join your latest MLM scheme.
The questioner is looking for something that he would enjoy as well I think. I beleive you could have returned the serve there.

the person wanted to know if you like going to arcades or a sports game, presumably to take you there for the next date, once you didnt seem like that he didn’t know what to do
i guess i can see where the question was heading
there are some pp that feel you have to go on a vacation once a year (min) alone as a couple and if u dont OMG and of course one a year with your whole family
and then once you go are you the type that needs to run and go sight seeing, malls or are you the type just to wake up late and chill a whole day in the room
i guess to some this is soo important that it should be brought up on a date
by asking what you like to do he was trying to understand your personality and what you like to do slightly plays a large role in reflecting what type of person you are. he also didn’t want to seem boring by talking about himself the whole time, it’s nice to show interest in the other person. I don’t think it’s worth stressig over the question though, you are who you are, and hopefully you are happy with the kind of person that you are. If you are content with who and what you are that is the main thing. compatibility only comes after that.
