2scents -“being that you present yourself as someone of medical authority why not disclose what credentials you have?”

Why should I? One thing I’ll tell you – I’m not an eye doctor.

“No one wants your help, not for pay or for free. You have displayed nothing but your silliness.”

That’s right – no one on Hatzolah of Monsey wants anyone’s help.
You don’t want my help because I’d charge you.
But what about all the guys that were begging to join H of Monsey – they were offering their services for free?
Did you read the Editorial about Monsey?
I think you even posted on it but with a different SN.
    I only use one SN!

Health, I don’t think you are anything close to a medical professional. You seem to have lots of time on your hands even answering yeshiva world CR posts sometimes within minutes, and your constant tit for tat and bashing definitely doesn’t make me believe otherwise

You seem to have an agenda and a mission, come out and show us your name, your face, and some guts

“Health” has expressed a distaste for Hatzolah as far back as I can remember. Chances are I probably interacted with him on my old forum as well but that was a lifetime ago.

Honestly, my own feelings aside, I don’t think that the best place to discuss these issues is an anonymous forum. There are far too many complexities in these cases that really don’t mix so well with the nature of a forum such as this one. There are privacy laws to protect the patient. There should be a healthy (no pun intended, buddy) amount of respect for first responders of any organization. And there should also be an understanding that if you personally were not at the scene there might be details that you don’t know.

Monday morning quarterbacking doesn’t really do anyone any good. I believe that if someone was on the scene, or has direct firsthand knowledge that actions performed by members of an organization were inappropriate, there are ways to get your message to that organization.

It’s been a long time since I’ve commented about an issue like this, but I still firmly believe that those who dedicate their time to helping others deserve the benefit of the doubt, whether it’s Hatzolah, Ezras Nashim or anyone else. If the goal is to help them improve, or to prevent a problem from happening again… there are better ways to do it.

After reading 150+ postings on this issue, I still come down on the side of those who believe that there are no legitimate reasons under Halacha or practicality that women cannot function as first responders other then gender bias or simple ignorance. Nationally, nearly half of new hires by the nation’s leading first responder paramedic and medical response teams are women. With proper training, women can do the job as well or better than men. I’m not talking about those responsible for rescuing vicitims from a crushed car or carrying the victim down three flights of stairs….just those providing emergency medical care.

    although I TOTALLY disagree
I think hatzoloh is an amazing organization and I have been personally impressed with their work many times when I watched them in action.

BTW, I am not a good person to argue with, I am usually too busy to keep checking responses.

“כל המציל נפש אחת כאילו הציל עולם ומלואו”

We had a terrible experience when our neighbors redid their floors and applied this toxic chemical “moisture cure” for three days. I was in my ninth month then, and I started feeling extremely sick and weak. I literally felt the sharp smell entering my lungs. After I called my husband in a panic that I couldn’t breathe, he rushed home. By the time he arrived, I wasn’t focused anymore. I felt like I swimming in a pool of water. My husband called Hatzolah (Jewish EMS), and the paramedics arrived. In the ambulance, I was already unconscious. When they wheeled me into the hospital I started hemorrhaging badly. To make a long story short, we lost our fully developed baby. When I woke up and learned what had happened, I couldn’t stop crying. My husband said to me, “Don’t cry. I am dancing and full of gratitude to see that my dear wife is alive.”

    Thanks.

Now Ezras Nashim is coming out with a movie to complain about hatzolah and chassidic community in general, r”l. It’s time to put a stop to this, if these women want to break all boundaries of tznius, they shouldn’t be allowed to be a part of the Jewish community especially not the chassidish ones

The video directly attacks Hatzalah and Rabbonim. It is narrated by the head of the Ezras Noshim. It also mocks tznius and Jewish tradition in general

I, living in Staten Island, was taking on the phone to my mother, living in Boro Park, erev Yom Kippur in the afternoon. The phone went dead. Recognizing that something is wrong, I called Hatzalah. They went out and found that my mother slipped on a carpet.

Let’s leave hatzolah out of it for a moment, just for “chassidish” women to go make a movie for goiyishe audiences besides for the chillul Hashem it causes by mocking hatzolah and Jewish culture, a act completely against the Torah. It’s time to expose group for what it really is a bunch of feminists using the boro park community for there advantage, and boro park lets it happen

    Can you provide some detail?
I can’t say I read every comment as there are currently 175 comments here. But I did scan them and I am quite curious.
In what way is Hatzola so bad?
Maybe I’m naive. But I always thought the purpose of that organization is to be first responders to medical emergencies.
Unfortunately I have had many occasions to need them between me and my extended family. Every time they arrived speedily, a few times even before I hung up the phone!!
They were always courteous and professional.
So what exactly is the issue with them that is giving you such grief??
I hope it’s not and issue of say, mismanaging funds or the like. Because to that I would say ”who cares? ” nobody forces me to give them a dime. They will respond just the same to a supporter as they would to you. If I felt they were mismanaging the money I just would not donate.
If it’s internal politics, such as promotions or the like, what do I care? I am not a member anyway. It doesn’t hurt me. So what exactly is the issue that has you so enraged that you consistently smash them here?
    I am quite curious.
    Thanks
Looking forward to your well reasoned response

It’s very hard to answer your question, because of the negative implications. We are talking about many Issurim. I personally don’t call Hatzolah, in most cases. I call EMS. I grant you H has a quick response, but that is only a Small part of EMS!

“In the Hasidic community there’s a huge divide between the genders,” explains Rachel “Ruchie” Freier in our exclusive trailer for “the movie.” “I’m being told that it’s not right for Jewish girls to become EMTs.” But the lawyer doesn’t listen to those who try to convince her that “when it comes to speed and strength, men are superior.” She and other women in her Brooklyn neighborhood are ready to dismantle the “boys’ club.”
Directed by Paula Eiselt, the upcoming documentary sees

the underdogs defying expectations and odds to create Ezras Nashim, the first all-female volunteer ambulance corps in New York City.
This is a review of the film by a movie company r”l

I received this message from a trusted source, but I can’t vouch for the authenticy of it.

A documentary film 93QUEEN is being released covering the story  of Ezras Nashim.

The filming began more than 5 years ago when a frum female filmmaker pursued me to allow her to create a  positive film depicting Chassidic women with a mission of modesty, who struggle for change. I consulted with Rabbonim and lawyers, confirming our intent to create a Kiddush Hashem in the media.

While I was assured I would have the opportunity to review and edit the film, due to a misunderstanding, the trailer and final version of the film was not in my control.

Yet, it is my fervent hope and prayer that 93QUEEN will be Mekadesh Sheym Shomayim….Rabbos Machshovos B’Lev Eesh….While people plan…. only HaShem’s will prevails.
