The Chofetz Chaim always had his suitcase packed and ready.

I think I would want to know when I could see my mother a”h and grandparents a”h.

    HIDE MY FACE!!

Run to shul. Daven, cry, do teshuvah. Daven, cry, do teshuvah. Daven, cry, do teshuvah… Until I’m good and ready to greet him.

Uh you are supposed to do all that before he comes. Not saying I dont have to do the same…

I would sit there dumbfounded and numb for a good while. And then I would probably cry from my emotions.

I had a little something packed, but then I outgrew what I packed. I suppose I’ll re-pack a more current set of stuff.

Well, it would depend on which version of yemos haMoshiach turns out to be the correct one. If the RAMBAM’s version is correct, as I think it is, I guess I would pretty much do what I’m doing now. Making a living, taking care of my family. Of course, I would be contributing to the new Bedek haBayis, maybe buy memorial plaques for my parents, A”H”. I would also have to become familiar with hilchos kadshim and make arrangements to be oleh regel. Don’t think I’d move to E.Y. Home prices will be though the roof. I guess I can be oleh regel from chutz la’aretez just like they used to do in the old days.

The point is, to me, beyas haMoshiach is real. Not a fairy tale. Not “pie in the sky by and by”. Moshiach is a real person and you and I, real people will be there when becomes, b’meheirah beyameinu.

@keepitcoming – I think when he’s here everyone will know, don’t think there will be a doubt in anyone’s mind. And there are so many midrashim that will freak you out. Try reading the end of Sefer Yeshezkel where it talks about milchemes gog umagog.

Regarding packing clothing, I always said that I’ll have to wear my school uniform to greet Mashiach as it was the most (only?) modest clothing I had. Now that I’m out of uniform I think I have something big to work on before he comes…Ouch.

I would run away. I lived in the shadow of Brooklyn long enough to develop an aversion to crowds.

Same, but the opposite. Cry first, then sit dumbfounded and cry more.

    Pack.

I don’t keep a packed suitcase, but I know what I need and I know where everything is.

Do we know for a fact that the two events (Moshiach arriving and T’chiyas HaMaisim) will happen together? I’m not so certain of that.

The Wolf: I know, I had a feeling I would have to be patient on that one….

I’m not sure where, but I heard a Rabbi say that it says somewhere that Persia will be part of the final war before mashiach. That gets me really freaked out, seeing as Iran is (in?) Persia…

    1) Get my future costume out (you know, the one with the V-neck. what? we all get to wear those in the future, don’t we ?)

    2) Get out 2 glasses to make my L’chaim with Moshiach.

    3) text my chavrusa that I might be a wee bit late for night seder tonight.

    😉

    l’chaim yidden, l’chaim!
