How is it even possible for someone to get the email addresses of CR members to send threatening emails to?

WIY, I hope you never find out the answer. Resident stalker Joseph has and did. Joseph is a genius who knows how to stalk and harass. It’s his profession.
I would suggest that anyone that understands that mindset, should be considered a suspect.
And what about posters who are able to put up links to threads and even individual posts from years ago on a regular basis with apparent ease?

Maybe soliek can be our Frank Abagnale Jr or Kevin Mitnick and tell us how he used seemingly innocent pieces of information to piece together identities, and give us an insight into the mind of Joseph.

You ask an excellent question and seem to be getting answers circumventing a very basic question.
No matter what name anyone uses here, it most likely has zero to do with their real email address. And then the alleged perpetrator or boogey man would have to allegedly figure out what comes after the @ sign.
So how WOULD someone know someone’s email. And at that point, why is it our concern and not local authorities, IF there were a real problem, c”vs.
When something aint right, its wrong.
I have known enough blog sites and chat rooms to know there are countless fraudulent spoofs going on just like this one. It’s like summer camp stories.

I think there’s great confusion here about victims and stalkers. Those who claim to be victims, could be stalkers, and the alleged stalkers could be victims.
Wikipedia cites key factors in identifying cyberstalking. One of them is:
-Encouraging others to harass the victim. Many cyberstalkers try to involve third parties in the harassment. They may claim the victim has harmed the stalker or his/her family in some way.

besides hacking the CR – all moderators have email accounts (at least we used to have email accounts) for mods to discuss issues and posters to contact us if the need arose. If these accounts still exist it would be possible for a hacker to get into an account and steal the address book information.

well i tried answering but the mods apparently thought it was too much of a walkthrough. personally i think you should know how its done so as to avoid it…but thats just my opinion
