OK, you win, yes, it’s the repeating thingy.

At least there’s one here on the ball!!

Yes, the deletion of that post was quite convenient for me. 🙂

    Little Froggie:

By repeating “your self,” you do mean that your current screen name

is the same as your last account’s was, right?

No, actually I didn’t think of that. Certainly didn’t think of advertising it.

I thought someone would chap the “Sorry for repeating myself, that’s right, sorry for repeating myself”.

    Little Froggie:

Sigh! Next time, use “myself” instead of “my self,” and I won’t be

misled into thinking your entire self is being repeated, and you’re repeating the phrase to call attention to your specific phrasing.

Also: (ps what was your s/n back then? Sh..)

I didn’t have one. This is my first, and so far only, username.

Another interesting profile page is RebYidd23’s:

    http://www.theyeshivaworld.com/coffeeroom/profile/rebyidd23

But most people don’t bother with this kind of thing – even

    Popa’s is just this:

    Location

    Possibly Chicago

    Occupation

    Troublemaker

    Interests

Trolling. Making fun of other trolls.

Kii Keyboard on Android has Alien Fonts. It is cool that it actually posts like that.

??? ???? ?? ?????? ????! Thanks Randomex! I just checked out your profile- glad to see my name there twice:)You can add this there or to your report card comments-

“Despite Randomex’s super intelligence and awesome skills, like his ability to clarify complex stuffs so adroitly- he is still so admirably unassuming and humble and will treat everyone with respect and equality. He doesn’t put himself above responding to any poster, and will take each person seriously and respond with sincerity. Randomex, you’re a real inspiration!:)”

Thank you, Eftach, that’s very sweet of you! Keep reading, though…

(Also, I don’t know of any “report card comments” location belonging to me – there was a public one, but it’s been dedicated to Patur Aval Assur for a while now.)

    I have created a dilemma:

The comments I previously put on my profile were posted by people

who were unaware that their words might be used in that context, i.e. meisi’ach l’fi tumo (for those familiar with some halachos about testimony). Eftachbchinor’s post (above this one), however, was created with the intention that it be used in that way.

Does this render it less authentic in a way? Can or should I use it? (According to who or what, anyway?)

I’m also not sure I want to have as many as 3 quotes from a single user – this might make such users seem like unreliable sources of opinion about me. In fact, what if they are? Can or should I use quotes from such users?

It only gets worse. Now that I have called attention to my profile, can anyone be considered meisi’ach l’fi tumo? From what I’ve seen, it appears that the majority of users read the majority threads.

Let’s examine the context the quotes would be put in:

“here are some nice things people have said about me:”

It doesn’t seem deceptive to add anything whatsoever, unless

I can surmise that the poster didn’t mean what they were saying, and I think it’s self-understood that nice things aren’t necessarily objective.

I’m just taking all this too seriously, like I do the entire Coffee Room. 🙂

So I’ll just put Eftach’s quote up with a note that it was on the record, and I ask anyone who remembers, when saying something nice about me, that what they say might be quoted later, to note that they are speaking on the record. As for the too-many-quotes-from-one-source, who says it has to be convincing? (I may consider a cap later.)

“Stuff” is a plural, and doesn’t need an “s” after it.

Also, I think I am assuming and need to work on treating everyone with respect, and I’m not sure I treat everyone equally outside of being willing to attack almost anyone.

“I’m also not sure I want to have as many as 3 quotes from a single user – this might make such users seem like unreliable sources of opinion about me. In fact, what if they are? Can or should I use quotes from such users?”

Now add this one: “Randomex has a real organized brain. Gosh, you should be a lawyer if you aren’t yet.”

“”Stuff” is a plural, and doesn’t need an “s” after it.”

There you go again, restating the obvious. It sounds better that way and I like it with the s.

“Also, I think I am assuming and need to work on treating everyone with respect, and I’m not sure I treat everyone equally outside of being willing to attack almost anyone.”

    I don’t agree.

    Randomex:

Although “stuff” does not need an “s”, there are certain situations where the word “stuffs” is used. Examples, include textiles, and “stuffs of war”, although in regards to the latter, the Oxford English Dictionary, notes that the usage is obsolete.

Coincidence? I was just typing something on Microsoft Word (not even remotely related to the coffee room) and clicked on “synonyms” for the word “things” and one of the suggestions was “stuffs”.
