Just curious as to what the going rate is for a lulav and esrog in NY?
September 27, 2012 2:39 pm at 2:39 pm #897905shmoelMemberStarting at $35/set.
September 27, 2012 2:42 pm at 2:42 pm #897906YW BandMemberOn the streets (Ave J & BP) they usually range from $25-40 today & erev can be as low as $10! In wholesale stores they range from $35-75. In esrogim stores (straight from Israel etc) range from $75-til no end ($300)lol! Hatzlacha & gut yom tov!
September 27, 2012 2:47 pm at 2:47 pm #897907mythoughtsParticipantI would say the range is between $40 and $150.
September 27, 2012 3:07 pm at 3:07 pm #897908bp27ParticipantBetween $10 and $300 for a set, and everything in between. Depending on what and where.
(It’s kind of like asking the going rate for a diamond on 47th Street.)

September 27, 2012 4:17 pm at 4:17 pm #897910takahmamashParticipantLike I said in the OP, I’m just curious. Here on our yishuv sets go for between NIS 60-90.
September 27, 2012 4:28 pm at 4:28 pm #897911zahavasdadParticipantGo Sunday Afternoon, price will be as low as $5 a set
September 27, 2012 5:17 pm at 5:17 pm #897912kingdavidParticipantsomeone asked me what is the esrog really worth…
I replied, whatever you pay for it, that becomes the value of it (the mitzvah is worth more if you pay more for it – so paying $5 a set the last minute is not recommended)
September 27, 2012 7:04 pm at 7:04 pm #897913shmoelMemberThe Esrog’s mehudar worth is based upon defined halachic mehudardik attributes of the Esrog. Not what you pay for it. An Esrog bought for $10 could be worth far more than one paid $50 for.
September 28, 2012 11:33 am at 11:33 am #897914zahavasdadParticipantWith such poverty rates and so many people struggling, better spend less on a estrog and more on such things as food.
September 28, 2012 2:47 pm at 2:47 pm #897915shmoelMember2 and half days before Yuntif and I see $10 and $20/sets for sale.
