We all know there can only be one True Town out of the Five. Which is it?

They are different, both socio-economically and in terms of yeshivish.

By five towns you mean of course,
    1.uptown
    2. downtown
    3. in-town
    4. out of town
    5. way out of town
    correct?
My vote is for 5. No L”H meant against the other 4 choices.
Now that we have clarified the OP, carry on…

    Gomorrah.

It makes Soddom look downright good.

The other three don’t come close.

    I thought OP meant

    Williamsburg
    Borough Park
    Monsey
    Kiryat Joel
    Lakewood

Far Rockaway is not only not a Five Town, it is far. No matter where you are, it is far too far.

Zahavasdad, out of those, it is more complicated to decide, because only some are towns.

Long Beach in the house–think we used to be considered the 6th town–maybe 7th.

Actually, none of them are towns. They are all part of the Town of Hempstead ( the oldest town in the U.S
, founded in 1644 ). Two are villages ( Lawrence and Inwood ) two ( Woodmere and Cedarhurst ) are hamlets the fifth, Hewlett, is a combination of villages and hamlets. The difference comes down between incorporated with its own elected officials ( villages ) or being unincorporated areas ( hamlets ) governed directly by the Town of Hempstead. Historically, Inwood never had much of a Jewish population, but it has picked up in recent years because of it’s ( relatively speaking ) lower price of houses

Anonymous Jew, that means that relative to each other, they are all towns.
