So far we have answers ranging from father and brother, aside from a few jokes. It appear that it can be accurately said that no one from this chevra lives in a home where the wife wears the pants.

i think the only thing that can accurately be said is that nobody took your question seriously or felt obligated to answer. And i am pretty certain you have asked this question before.

Are you trying to hint that you wear the pants in the house?

You clearly have the same agenda as always. So everyone gave a literal answer.

    Op: literally or figuratively?

    #1115861

Figuratively. Noting a discrepancy between the figurative answer and the literal answer would also be interesting.

    “Is she MO?”

What does that have to do with anything? A woman is the Akeret Habayit, mainstay of the home. She should be in charge of the day to day at home.

A man’s main occupations should be learning, tefillah in shul, and parnassa. When a wife gets in the way of those, then and only then could there be a problem.

If you desire that which is not yours, you will not only not get that other, you will lose you own. Don’t worry about someone else’s tafkid.

If it’s cold and she doesn’t feel like turning up the heat, Eeees might put a pair of sweatpants on under her skirt/robe. Does that count?

what is your high level interest in this question? i know you’ve brought it up before at least once. are you trying to placate yourself that you aren’t the only one ruled by your wife?

This is high level to you? You seem a tad nervous. Do some discussions get under your skin? The only place you saw this previously discussed in recent memory is if you pursued through nonpublished material.

to answer your comments and questions:

yes, pursuing a dead topic more than once appears high level to me

im not nervous and dont appear to be so but you do seem to like to throw in those types of comments so ill just move on

do some discussions get under my skin? actually, no, not at all. people’s behaviors do, tho. when the questions/comments/discussions are creepy, rude, condescending, or obssessive (to name a few) it does raise red flags by me.

i already stated above that it was not recent. in fact it was long enough ago that i wouldnt even know where to look for it, had i had an interest in doing so.

i do find many responses and posts get you nervous tho. you seem to over-respond or ignore them altogether. just noting…

Either turn up the heat or continue to wear the sweatpants under her skirt or robe. Why is that a problem?

So you’re dissatisfied whether someone responds too thoroughly (in your esteemed estimation) and if someone responds not at all. Interesting. It’s okay that your nervousness is pointed out to you. And there are no previous discussions of this topic by this poster. (Or by others insofar as I can tell.) But if this is your definition of high level, who am I to argue with you.

no im not dissatisfied, no i dont care if someone doesnt respond. i also said nothing in my post that would lead to those assumptions.

i dont know what you interpret as nervousness but i can say that you do have these types of tense, defensive responses when people call you on certain things – this appearantly being one of them.

regrding previous discussions of this topic – i would put money on it. maybe someone else (tho i doubt it) but like you said – who am i to argue with you.

Syag.. You’re definitely a very brave soul!! Without speaking too much… I’ve spoken about this to one who was here LONG before me… certain people have certain agendas.. for better or.. After a brief time the true person gets revealed.. You get to see a person by what’s on his/her mind.. what excites them. As Rabbi Miller ??”? says, ???? ??? ????? – according to what he praises or gets enthusiastic about. Personally, I’m not such a people person, definitely not in real life, but one who is cannot fail to build profiles of posters by what they post.

    It’s not.

How is wearing sweatpants under a skirt in public a problem? They function the same way as really thick tights.

My daughter does too. Literally and figuratively. She’s one. And my whole day, all my jobs, visits, meetings are dependent on her!! (If she was up the previous night I know I’m gonna have a pretty good day) Oy does SHE wear the pants…

I wear the pants that which have a waist size a few inches wider than I would prefer cause my wife wears the pants when it comes to deciding how many different desserts our guests need ( as well as everything else).

Who’s the family patriarch when you’re wearing a skirt?

You are, assuming you’re Scottish… But if that was in response

to This name is already taken, he didn’t say he ever wore a skirt.

What a disagreeable, quarrelsome, ornery thread I stumbled on.

I think a better question would be-

Who wears the pants in the Coffeeroom?

    And who wishes they did?
